Remarks

Sports facilities are below par. There is a need for an indoor stadium. The college is very overcrowded and the saturation point of students has been reached much ago.College authorities especially hostel authorities constantly harass students if dues are not paid on time.Management is chaotic due to over crowdedness of students.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is prepared by Punjab Technical University. It emphasizes techinical education and providing industry specific knowledge to students. But the Course sometimes contains irrelevant subjects such as humanities and environmental science which is really not needed in streams such as computer Science,Electronics and communication,Mechanical and Information Technology. The college does a fantastic job in providing students with industry specific education. The TPP cell grooms the students well in a industry oriented manner which really helps the students in securing jobs. Industrial visits are regularly organized in each semesters which helps the students to gain industty insight and knowledge.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are the biggest strength of this college. It is very good for Cse,IT and Ece streams. But not that great for other streams. The average package was Rs 7 lakhs in 2019.The placement drive is held jointly with the students of sister colleges Cgc jhanjheri and Chandigarh University.Last year atleast 2500 students got placed with highest package of 33 lakhs.Top MNC's like amazon, microsoft, wipro, tcs, infosys, goldman schs regularly visit the campus to recruit students.last year 15 students were recruited by amazon. The college Placement cell is one of the best and puts best efforts to bring recruiters. Also it trains the students in an industry oriented way which helps the students to get a job.

College Events

3

The main Technical and cultural fest of the college is Parivartan. It is celebrated in tge month of November every year and is a 2 day fest.It is a National level fest and students from all over india participate in it.But still it is not at par withtop universities.sometimes the management of the event becomes chaotic and events are not organized well.Cultural nights are held where mainly local stars and singers come.In addition to parivartan each engineering block organizes their own technical and cultural events throughout the year though the level of participation is not that great.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is Rs 43000 per semester except the 1st semester, where the fees is Rs 47000.For Hostel it is Rs 40000-45000 per semester depending upon the seating arrangements in hostels. The course fee is very affordable while the Hostel Fee seems overpriced for the services it provides. The college also charges various hidden charges from time to time, which can be frustating for students sometimes. The fees can be paid offline or online through netbanking or upi applications.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarships for Local Sc/St students and also for students from Jammu and Kashmir. For education loan the college has tieup with axis Bank.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life depends upon our priorities. The campus is well built but not big.Sports facilities are available but are not at par with top universities. There is a lack of indoor sports facilities. There are many clubs and different kinds of club activities take place throughout the year. But these activities are organized in a micro level and the situation sometimes become chaotic.Student diversity is there in the college.Students from all parts of india comes here, though majority are from punjab and neighbouring states. The gender ratio is maybe 1 girl per 10 boys.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes i had opted for Hostel Rooms. There are 5 Hostels for boys and a single hostel for girls. There are 2,3 and 4 seater rooms available and hostel rent vary according to the seating arrangement. The rent of 2 seater is 90000 per annum, for 3 seater 85000 and 4 seater 80000.4 seater rooms are small relatively and study table is not provided.there are fans and coolers in every room. Separate wardrobes for every student. In my opinion hostels are a bit overpriced and it is better to take PG or rent an apartment outside. There is wide availability of PG's and flats outside the campus at quite an affordable price. For 2 bhk room it is about 8k-12k at the minimum. For 3 bhk it is 10k-15k at the minimum.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very helpful. The college has a 100% ragging free campus.Seniors and juniors live in harmony. The college also has a strong alumni network.

Admission

I got into this college through merit list.Students obtaining 75% and above in +2 exams can easily get a seat in this college.Minimum percentage in 60% for getting admission.i opted for this college as it has a very good placement record. The college has an excellent record in providing placement opportunities for its students. Also the campus was well built and it was a ragging free campus. Also one of my close friend was studying there so he recommended me this college.Admission to this college can be through merit list or through Jee counselling through Punjab Technical University,Jalandhar.Admission is done in Block 2 which is the administrative block of the college. The process is fast.

Faculty

3

The number of lecturers in a single course is about 30-40,with almost 3-4 lecturers for a single subject. There are additional teachers for laboratories and workshops.Faculty members are mostly young, being 40-50 years on average.Majority of them has completed their bachelors and Masters degree and many of them have also completed their Phd.Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful.Teaching skills differ from teacher to teacher. Some are good while others are not.Teachers generally lack in prictical and industry experience.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
