Remarks
Overall, If I say the college is a good package of academics, opportunity to learn, college life and a hell lot of other things. You can't expect something extraordinary out of this college and the campus life, so if you have plans to join this, keep your
Entrance Preview
Got this college through common admission process i.e. CAP of Maharashtra State. I had applied through my AIEEE score which was just 64 as I was an Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) Candidate. The reason for listing this at the top priority was the review about the Indira Group of Institutes is pleasant considering the education sector.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well the course curriculum was indeed one of the best I would say as it is affiliated to the University Of Pune. I found the subjects very precisely chosen which gave you the chance to learn what you opt for and in a complete manner. The subjects were helpful in various competitive exams like GATE and also helped you to gain a complete knowledge of the branch. I had opted for Mechanical Engineering, wherein initially in 1st year there were common subjects from all the departments like electrical, civil, electronics etc. From the 2nd year, the core subjects starts to be a part, for me some of the subjects were TOM, DOM, Engg Graphics, MSD, CFD and many more. In total there were around 48 subjects over 6 semesters.
Internships Opportunities
Well, yes ! The college does provide you assistance in looking for Internship but the effort should come from your side. If you can give them a hint for internship of your interest, they communicate officially and try to make it work.
Placement Experience
Talking about the IGI, they have wonderful placement records. Since this college is a part of the same group you can expect a good opportunity. The Training & Placement cell is quite active and tries it's best to bring companies for recruitment process. Also, they will help you in the Pool Campus placements in the city. In my batch of BE Mechanical 40% were placed in different companies, whereas the figure was larger for IT & COMP. Being a Mechanical Engineer, I was selected for JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. As a Technical Services Engineer from the campus recruitment drive. I was offered a package of 3.5 LPA for training and 4.5 LPA after confrimation i.e. after 6 Months.
College Events
The college organizes many events including technical, non technical & cultural events. In the first half of the year, you'll have many sports events, followed by exclusive events by different departments during Engineer's day. The annual fest will follow after that which includes a whole lot of activities includes cultural, Days and other stuff.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is the same as that of a private engineering college in Pune. The average Fee would be around 1 Lakh for one academics year. Apart from that the hostel fee was 75000 INR including the mess charges. Mostly the fee keeps changing as per the directive from a central authority of Maharashtra Government.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarship facilities for people who belong to the state of Maharashtra. If you belong to any sub castes, or have a weak economic conditions and you're from Maharashtra, you have the support of scholarships. However, scholarships don't apply for outside Maharashtra state candidates. And, since the college is affiliated to AICTE, any bank gives you the education loan, however the college has no role in the loan process.
Campus Life
Coming to campus life, trust me it's just another engineering campus. There's nothing extraordinary and the life feels boring sometimes. The crowd quality is average and the gender ratio of boys to girls is 40:60 in departments other than mechanical departments, for mechanical guys, it's the same here too. There are different social activities including campaigns, trips and sports activities. Most of the festivals are celebrated in a good manner with full of energy .
Hostel Facilities
I was a day scholar, but my friends who used to stay in the hostel said that it was an average stay. The rooms were triple sharing with separate bed, cupboard and study table for each candidate. The food at the hostel was OK types, you can't compare it wi
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not so strong and you won't find many seniors or graduated students on the campus even for a single day of the year. You'll get a few chances to interact with them only if you're luck enough to have them on campus for any particular event. The seniors who are still in the college, they come handy and are pretty helpful . They guide you properly for any matter either academic or non academic.
Exam Structure
The Exam structure is Normal. You have your Semester exams Bi-Annually which is conducted by the University. Apart from that, the college conducts its internal exams every month which also includes mock practicals before the University practicals.
Faculty
To my surprise, the faculty in the college is quite hardworking and dedicated towards their profession. They give their best efforts to share the knowledge that they have in the best possible manner, which is not found in colleges these days. The Departmen
