Remarks

The College is aimed for better education than overall development of students in other criteria. There is no complain for College but little disappointed as we have no celebration like Navratri or anything. Students organises one day Navratri on our expense.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is perfectly structured. As this is deemed University, this have their own exam pattern and it's well balanced with keeping the in mind the pressure on students. Lab and other facilities are up to date. Yes, there is sometimes issues with dental chair not working and makes the day hectic but overall good experience.

Placement Experience

4

In the course of dentistry there is no placement. As there is no company placement needed in dentistry. College have 5 year course including 1 year internship. The internship is part of course and cannot be done in any other College. This particular University doesn't provide stipend. Intern works for free and the timings are 9 am to 2 pm. There is other Universities in state which provide some amount as stipend. Interns are mainly people who handles the College below staff. They look over register, patient OPD, for every purpose interns are assigned. Intern's reports to PG or staff and they report to HOD.

College Events

1.5

University is mainly academic oriented and hardly go off track with any festival celebration. In dental department there is no festival celebration ever. College (dental department) celebrates cultural day in month of February and everyone is open to participate including staff. No outsider is allowed. The last cultural fest was on 8th February 2020. This is celebrated in College auditorium and is attended by students and staff no parents are invited. This cultural fest named "Plexus" have only started since last two years. College also celebrate sports week in month of December. It includes games like carrom, chess, cricket, kho kho, volleyball, tug of war, etc. It is handled by interns and management look over it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course is expensive costing 3,69,000/- per annum in 2016 when I joined the College. The current fees for freshman are approximately 3,99,000/- per year. So for four year course it's 16 Lakh approximately. This doesn't include books or exam fees or any other extra fees. The College also demands certain instruments and materials which is to be brought by students from their home and that is around 15 to 16 thousand for 4 years. College provide materials for interns. Mask and gloves are to be brought by students. Interns gets this things from College. Books will cost approximately 20000 for four years. College have library for issuing book free of charge.

Campus Life

3.5

My current batch includes of 86 students including 17 boys and 69 girls. College is academic oriented hardly celebrate any festivals. Though College organise Rangoli competition, salad making competition, sports week and one cultural day.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is very less space allotted to dental students. The boys hostels in the city do not take dental students as we have very few holidays compared to engineering students. There is hostel for girls and they are very good. Boys lives mostly in the PG and the rent is approx 2000 to 3000 per month in shared PG's. Food and other expenses are extra. It costs around 8000 rs per month if living in PG. It includes rent, food, water bill, light bill, laundry and maid.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors above me are interns and POst graduate students. Post graduate student look over under graduate's work and they are very helpful and supportive. The university is school in itself, we are free to ask doubts and can contact staff at any time during College hours.

Admission

I got admission through GUJCET. It was state entrance exam for medical field in Gujarat. This exam has been removed and NEET is central exam for entrance in medical field. I chose dentistry at this University due to it's patient turn over and you can get lots of practice here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college is giving 2 hours per day in posting for 3rd year students which is the best for us to learn this early how to do pateint. They held free check up sessions for poor people who are able to afford fees of treatment nd for school students also. Exams timings is of 3 hours and we have long ans.questions which is very difficult to finish them up.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So curriculum I think is okay actually. Subjects that are actually related to dentistry have been focused more. Exam frequency is perfect according to my college we have enough break time and study time both. Teaching method should slightly changed as in more advancements are definately needed. For example nowadays for normal restoration people use composite in private clinics but composites practically are taught in internship in colleges. Actually it should be taught in final year itself. However in exams we have amalgam only so it's not college's fault

The faculty over here is at par excellence though bds is the toughest course out faculty makes it easy for us here 3:1 girls boys ratio is seen usually in the dental colleges all the faculty members are doctors either MBBS or bds/MDS. Every 2 months there are internal exams and before the university exams, there are prelims taken for us.
