Remarks

Although, the college is as good in academics and faculties this although forces students to learn on their own and are not being spoon-fed which is great. Also, there is not much academic pressure which allows students to be involved in other extracurricular activities along with studies providing them overall development. The placements are pretty good and the different cultures of their own make it pretty unique in its own way.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum of the college is pretty much old where there is no focus on research and it's more of a theoretical approach followed rather than making it learn practically. But with this, the exams are not much frequent and it's easy to pass the examination by studying on your own rather than relying on the professor.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements in CSE Department are pretty much nice. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, Flipkart, Samsung, and many other top-notch companies have arrived for both full-time jobs and internships. The companies visit just at the start of the third year and fourth year. The stipend ranges from around 40k-80k rupees per month. Industrial training to other core branches are also made available by the college.

College Events

4

The college has many clubs and societies which organize all types of events ranging from technical to cultural. Technical fests of college named Technosearch is organized in the odd semester and cultural fest named Maffick is organized in even semester. Both of them are pretty big and include many small events. The footfall for them is around 4000-5000. The other events include Sceecs by IEEE MSB, Chimera by ISTE, Tooryanaad by Rajbhasha, MUN by IBC, Robaroo, Vision, and much more. They attract around 1k-2k students from different colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees for almost all Nit's are the same as decided by the administration. It depends upon your family's income if it's more than 5 lakh, then it costs you around 2 lakh every year, if it is more than 3 it's around 1lakh and if it's less than 1 lakh it does not cost you from administration, although the hostel fees and maintenance fees have to be paid same by all. It's feasible if we talk about tuition fees alone but hostel fees are unnecessarily expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

A loan facility is available as a student loan by banks which are to be paid once you are graduated. Students mostly take student loans from banks available locally on campus by SBI. Scholarships are mostly awarded not by the college but by the state, government students belong to like the students belonging to Madhya Pradesh can get free education other than meals if you have got 85% in boards minimum and also qualified Jee-Mains. This way different state governments have different policies.

Campus Life

3

The labs are okayish to be said. Some of them although require more than a touch-up. The sports are motivated among the students and there is a complete sports complex and also rooms in a hostel for same. The gender ratio can be said to be around 1:5 for girls to boys. There are many no. Of Cultural societies like Roobaroo and Aenak to be named a few. The students are from mostly all over India and there's no such partiality on any terms above. The students form a council that includes different positions to be fought for by students in elections. The politics game is pretty deep and economic status is decent enough.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels vary for different year students. Some of the hostels are pretty old of about 1970s and their infrastructure is bit old and also the facilities are not good to be said truly. The fees asked for them also add to the frustration. Some of the hostels allow for solo rooms and some have to be sharing. The no. Of rooms are enough to accommodate the students in college. If you have got coaching to attend then it's the same for both hostel and PG as traveling adds to the cost of living in a hostel. Otherwise, the hostel and PGs cost pretty much the same around 45k each year although it depends upon your PG also.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are the ones from which a different culture in inherited in college from the old times when the college was named MACT and had the name of its own in the whole country. The alumni and seniors are nice and helpful and keep giving guidance by attending talks and seminars. Alumni mostly are invited to different events from different fields in events by students so that they can learn from their experiences in the field and can interact with them in a healthy manner. I personally have never got moved as much talking to alumni but have heard many students getting guidance for their good.

Admission

I got admission by Jee Mains, which is an entrance exam for pretty much every other engineering college at the national level. I got around 7000 ranks out of 12 lakhs students and I am applied for the CSE & ECE department in most of Nit's. I got to this college after 7 Counseling rounds. To tell about the choice of branch, well it is the branch which is in rising and I was also having an interest in it from school.

Faculty

3

Some of the faculties here are strong in their concepts and are able to convey the knowledge properly but these are only a few, Others either do not know the subject or are not good at transmitting their knowledge to the students. Thus most students are not so much interested in attending the classes.

After completing the four-year degree, the college does provide placement, but I don’t know much about it yet because I haven’t seen many companies visiting the college. So far, I’ve only seen four or five companies. There aren’t any major companies coming in. Also, when placements happen, it’s unclear how many students got placed, how many didn’t, what the packages were, or what the highest package was. From what I’ve seen, the placement seems to be average at best.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum followed by the college is slightly old in comparision to iits and nits but it is better than most of the remaining colleges. But the curriculum could be improved. The curriculum is based on more theoretical approach and less practical approach for some branches. The teaching methodology is good . Teachers use smart boards if they need. The frequency of the exams and msts are good but they also include demo which makes it hectic.
