Remarks
The atmosphere was good, Faculty were also good and did help us with our project works, placements etc. The college cam improve in the course structure, the lab works, a better playing area for refreshment and the placement scenario.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure i feel is a bit lagging behind. They focus more on theories and exam preparations rather than a practical approach where students get to experience the real world problems and their working. Exams included two unit tests followed by the semester exams. They had a decent amount of time in between. Labs were conducted once evryday. So it was pretty cool nothing hectic.
Placement Experience
There isn't any internship provided by the college itself, although the management does support students who get to intern from different companies. Allowance to not attend lectures were given. Placements we're not as expected. TCS and Teradata were the only major companies coming up for placements providing packages above 3Lac. Many medium and small tiers companies do came with low package and entry level jobs. The jobs offered were not mostly related to the course. Basically the focus was on IT related jobs.
College Events
Festivals weren't with a huge footfall. There were 2 festivals mostly happening around Feb/March. One festival consisted of mostly technical and sports related stuff. Another on a big cultural festival consisting of fashion show, awards night, dance, DJ night etc. Mostly it was the college students itself participating.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was around 95k a year. So basically 3. 6lac for the whole 4 year course. 25k a year was returned in the form of scholarship which brought the total fees to 2. 6lac for the course. So it was a bit okay, and not so feasible as well. Plus hosted students had other expenses, so it was a bit on the expensive side.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college did provide scholarship of 25k for students whose house income was less than 2lacs a year. Also deserving and OBC students also got internships. No idea about loans but the college did provide students to pay fees in installments.
Campus Life
The atmosphere was good. No students were targeted based on their religion, status etc. Everyone was good around. Their were different committees formed to keep a check on students behaviour. Technical committee's were there for different branches. Monthly workshops of respective branches, guest lectures, seminars were held regularly. Labs were well equipped with materials for practicals. Overall the extracurricular part was good.
Hostel Facilities
Although the college didn't had any hostel facilities in the college, it had tie ups with different hostels in a radius within 2kms from the college. Hostel rooms, PG's were mostly sharing. Average rentals including of meals was around 3k per person. Facilities weren't upto the mark but was okay. Food quality and stuff was average.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is not so good. They dont have a proper platform for the alumnus to interact with each other. Although the seniors did help us for our project works, also for hosting the festivals etc. It was okay.
Admission
The admission was based on the MAHARASHTRA Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) for engineering courses. Got admission based on the marks scored. Although they have seats for minority quota as well. I selected the EXTC branch since it was a mix of both the networking with electronics. The admission process is simple, the students need to select their desired branch and based on availability of seats you get the branch. Pay the course fees and its done.
Faculty
Faculty has been a bit of both. Some teachers had their PhD on their respective subjects followed by years of experience. So it was helpful for us as they teach accordingly and give more weight to the logic and practical aspects of the subjects. Whereas some teachers did lack good way of teaching. Couldn't teach properly or maybe they were assigned the wrong subjects to teach which they weren't good at. Overall it was okay. Some were super, some were boring.
