Prashant Kumar's Review On Patna Medical College & Hospital - [PMCH], Patna

The college is the best medical college in Bihar and definitely one of the best colleges in India. One should definitely opt for pmch if he/she gets a good rank.

I took BCECE pre-medical entrance exams and secured 29th rank in the merit list. the college was like my dream coming true as I have heard a lot about it and the great and brilliant doctors it has produced.

MBBS is a 4.5 years curriculum with 1 year compulsory internship. Total of 14 subjects divided over 9 semesters and 4 university exams. The longest syllabus is of final year.so the final year subjects are taught from the 3rd semester.

The internship program in an MBBS course is a 1 year compulsory internship program. The internship has to be completed in the college hospital at a very nominal stipend provided by government. During our Internship,the stipend was rs 7200 pm.

The college is a very reputed college. The students from here mostly learn so good acumen that they don't have many difficulties in upcoming life. Most of students go for higher studies and few opt for government medical officer posts too.

Every year the 2nd year students organised a program called college foundation week which ended with celebrations of college foundation day on 25th Feb every year. For the whole week,game and cultural and debate programs are organized. The program is really worth memories for every one.

The fee structure was very nominal. Being a govt college,we just had to pay about 9500 rs per year rs and rs 6500 in final year. So total cost of course was about rs 35000.

College offered a scholarship of rs 20000 per annum for poor and meritorious students. The number of students being offered scholarship was 8-10 and eligibility was decided by interviews carried out by group of teachers and principal.

The best thing about college life was the awesome environment our college has greenery all around,situated on the bank of holy Ganges,with best brains of Bihar surrounding u was a really nice feeling.

The hostel facility was provided to every student on a nominal rate if rs 150 pm. Mess charges were about rs 1500 pm with nice food.

Every year alumni of students which joined college 50 years back is invited to attend college foundation day and share their memories. The alumni are awarded and also they give scholarships to various students on the basis of patronage.

We had total 9 semesters and 4 university exams spread over 54 months(4.5 years). There was ample gap between the various exams.

Pmch is a very famous college and hospital,we'll known for the patient input and thus from a students point of view who wishes to be a good clinician,its very good college. The faculty comprises of the best doctors in the relevant fields.
