Remarks
JNEC is one of the best Engineering colleges in Marathwada and now as it has formed its own university(MGM University) based on Gandhian philosophy, I can only expect it to improve and grow and become one of the best in our country.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is designed by BAMU which follows a CGPA pattern. The Assessment is divided into written exams and practical exams. The content of the curriculum is a little behind the latest trends, but as the college is forming its own university from next academic year(2020) the cirriculum is going to change drastically and many improvements are being made as we the students were also stakeholders in designing the curriculum. Industrial visits are organized for every year. We went to Infosys Pune and ISRO Hyderabad for our industrial visit.
Placement Experience
The placement is very good this year with 70% of students of my course getting placed in reputed companies. The companies that have visited us are TCS, Wipro, Dassault Systems, Asfour, Dhoot, Capgemini and more. The process of recruitment is as follows: 1. Shortlisting based on some criteria 2. Aptitude Test 3. Group discussion 4. Interviews(PI, MR) We were provided with aptitude training in our Third Year of engineering to prepare us for companies that take aptitude tests.
College Events
JNEC has its own technical fest "Swayambhu" were students from different colleges all over India can participate. The fest has seminars, workshops, technical contests, Paper presentations, project presentations, etc. We have our cultural meet RAZZMATAZZ were many nontechnical activities are conducted such as inter-department sports competition, cultural night, Nazrana night and so on.
Fee Structure And Facilities
We pay our yearly fees at the start of the semester. We are provided with a receipt that provides transparency in fee breakdown. Students are also provided with the option of paying the fee through installments. Demand draft or online payment is the mode accepted by the college. No additional charges had to be paid in order to secure admission. The fee structure is not very expensive as many scholarships are provided by the government.
Fees and Financial Aid
Based on my entrance score, I opted for TFWS(tuition fees waiver scheme) and secured it through a good rank. With this, I have to pay only a miscellaneous amount (around 11000-14000 INR).
Campus Life
I experienced a very good college life on my campus. The atmosphere here is very open and accepting. No one is discriminated based on their gender, ethnicity or religion. The college has a good ratio of male to female students. There are many clubs like poetry club, drama club, etc for students to learn and enhance their skills other than academics. We have our annual gathering RAZZMATAZZ, which is a fun-packed 4-day event including a DJ night, various departmental activities, cultural night, etc. Apart from this we also have our own technical fest SWAYAMBHU, which has many workshops, technical competitions, and seminars from eminent personalities. We have also hosted TEDxJNEC, an independently organized TED event. We have MGM Olympics every year where all colleges and individuals can participate in sports of their choice. Overall, JNEC provides a platform for all-round development
Alumni/Alumna
We have "Anubandh", our yearly alumni meet where our alumni share with their experiences. The relationship between seniors and juniors is also very good, the seniors have always been helpful in guiding us in our projects and academics.
Admission
I had a very clear aim of doing my engineering in Computer Science. Based on my entrance exam score, I decided to opt for JNEC as it is one of the best engineering colleges in Marathwada and my brother did his engineering from the same institute. The process of admission was as follows: 1. Ranking based on CET score 2. CAP rounds 3. I got JNEC college and CSE branch and I froze my CAP form. 4. Reporting to the institute for final admission process(document submission, fee payment and issue of ID card)
Faculty
There are 19-20 lecturers in each department of the college. The average age of the lecturer is 40 to 50 years having a Masters's degree and good experience in the field. The lecturers are helpful in clearing the basic concepts and doubts. Practical sessions are used to implement our theoretical knowledge. The lecturers are very skilled, helpful and kind.
