Madurai medical college is the One of the best colleges in the south India. Good academics and practicals. Many good doctors were from this college. excellent college in south Tamil Nadu since1954.

First year course consists of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. Second year course consists of pathology microbiology and pharmacology. Third year course consists of ent Opthalmology community medicine Fourth year is the difficult phase

After completing second phase of third year i. e. at the end of the fourth year there is intership for 1year through shuffling of departments for days to months The stipend for interns is about 20to25 thousands.

You have to get the scholarship from the Tamil Nadu government by applying through the form given in the college if you were a Tamil Nadu citizen otherwise you were allowed to apply to the medical council of india.

Hostels were good. There were some anti ragging committees and antiragging programmes. Very well aerated. In hostel 3-4members per room were allowed. There is separate block for first year students.

Often alumni meets held up. Most of the seniors had been very helpful in the academic and practical studies and programmes. but ragging is also there a lot. The senior students give materials and important questions for examinations progresses.

Through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Candidate through meet only admissioned Eligible candidates should normally score above 540marks in meet exam. And they have to apply through mci for all India quota And tn students through tn medical selection.

Very good faculty support Very well experienced and reputed professors and good assistances in the respective departments. Faculties were very helpful in academics and practical oretiations. More than enough professors in each departments.
