Remarks

No Institution is perfect and similar is the case with this college but if you are looking for a college that provides a great education in the state of the art infrastructure at very nominal fees then this is the place for you.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Teaching faculty was very good, had excellent knowledge of their subjects and focussed on value based learning for students, The labs are state of the art and help in making education highly research based as the College is at the heart of Cluster University Of Jammu students get ample opportunities for field visits and this helps in grooming them for future.

Placement Experience

3

The College does not host in campus placements very much and this is an area where the college needs to improve but most of the students who pass out from this reputed college go on to achieve great heights in their careers.

College Events

4.5

College holds multiple events, competitions in the campus as well as outside of it, the college is attached to MAM Stadium(International Standards Stadium) and also has its own auditorium and multiple grounds, the football ground of the college is the best in Jammu and holds National Level Football Tournaments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The Fee for B.Sc Biotechnology is around Rs 10,000/year, Fee Structure is very feasible and in fact gives good ROI, Fee can be paid through Digital Challan at the time of admission apart from this there is no separate sum that the student has to pay. The process of Fee payment is highly transparent with no instance of Corruption.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for any loan because the Fee structure is very feasible, but the college does offer various scholarship programmes with the assistance of Government based on merit and financial situation of students.

Campus Life

4

The campus is highly diverse and provides equal opportunities to all genders, ethnicities. The campus is full of Students from Jammu, Kashmir as well as Ladakh therefore it is a mix of different cultures, religions and languages. To celebrate this cultural diversity regular events are held in the college and hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a huge network of Successful alumni who are doing great in their lives, some are researchers in the US, some are Army Officers and many are Professors, and they regularly come to the College to interact with students and guide them.

Admission

I was always fascinated by biotechnology during my school days and therefore I wanted to study it further in College, And the best College to do so in Jammu Kashmir is GGM Science College Jammu which is regularly ranked among the best Degree Colleges in the state, with state of the art infrastructure and great faculty, choosing this college was a no brainer. Admissions to the College in Hons Courses are based on Cluster University Of Jammu Entrance Exam , While in other courses strictly on the basis of merit, For more details regarding the dates of admission one can refer to the Cluster University Of Jammu website.

Faculty

5

Teaching Faculty in the Institute is great with no shortage of Experienced Lecturers all of whom are PHD in their respective fields and have published their papers in respected Science Journals, Their method of teaching is easy to understand and the lecturers are all very helpful and co-operative

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

I chose science-non medical subjects being MATHS, GEOGRAPHY, and GEOLOGY. Reasons are my interest and love for these subjects. Class students and teachers ratio is good: 40-1. Teachers' qualifications are also good: MSc, Ph.D., NET qualified. Our exams were semester-wise [once in six months]. it was easy to pass if you just study normal and attend classes.
