Remarks
Teaching was ok, strictness was a tad bit extra. They won't even let you sit in the library during the College hours. Telling you to go and attend the lectures when you tried to complete your assignments or do self study. The watchmen won't let you leave after the College hours were over and there was a festival. You have to attend the festival regardless of weather you want to or not.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is kind of obsolete now. It doesn't not teach you about the techniques & softwares that are used today, but rather focuses on the methods used 15-20yrs back. The labs in most Colleges don't have the equipment necessary to conduct the practicals. All you learn from the exam structure is how to mug up things and how to complete your assignments a day before deadline.
Placement Experience
There was no placement from the College. Not one student because there was no Training and placement cell in the College, and it was formed on our last year but the faculty kept out oral exams on the same day as the date that the placement cell had set up an interview for us, so it was either the interview or the oral exam. Even after several requests the faculty didn't agree to postponing the exams to make time for our interview.
College Events
Cultural Event, Navratri fest, tech fest, Civiloution ( a tech fest arranged specifically by the civil department), Annual Sports, Annual Gathering, All of the fests were pretty average with just the College students participating and students from 2-4 other Colleges joining in for just the sports and tech fests. The management done on the fests was pretty good though. Three years several events yet not one event was disorganised. There was even a small scale celebration of teachers day & engineers day on departmental level every year where the students managed everything from donations to arrangements on teachers day and the teachers managing everything on engineers day. We also had to blood donation camps in the span of 3 years where a local blood bank was called in and blood donations were done by students and teachers.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Tution Fees - 50879 rupees Insurance money - 1000 rupees Caution Money - 5000 rupees (refundable - but was never refunded) Trust - 1000 rupees Stationary - 2500 rupees Others - 5000 rupees The fees was similar to other College
Fees and Financial Aid
The College didn't specifically provide any scholarships but there were different government funded scholarship schemes available. Two of them were EBC (Economically backward class) & a Caste based scholarship. If you apply for EBC you get 50% of your tution fees refund from the Government. And the Caste based scholarship refund was based on your Caste with some students paying just 8-10 thousand (total fees) annually. I personally applied for EBC, the criteria was that your annual family income should be less than 6lakh rupees. Then you had to file for a Income Certificate. Then fill the online form for scholarship at the government site & submit the printed form and documents in the College. Documents such as income certificate, aadhar, educational documents, birth certificate, etc
Campus Life
The festivals were pretty good with a good number of boys & girls participants. Sports was more dominated by boys but the youth and cultural events were events where more number of girls took part. There was no racism in regards to anything like religion, ethnicity, race, economic status or any other reason for that matter. Everyone worked together in harmony like a well oiled machine
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors helps us with the management of events, told us about the staff and the subjects & practicals. They also let us study and watch them do their fiinal year projects so that we could get ideas about what our final year project should/could be & how to manage resources and time to complete the project on time.
Admission
It was the one allotted to me via the cap rounds. First you go to the ARC centre near you and collect the application form along with ID password & a booklet with information about different Colleges in the state. Then you use the application ID and password to fill out the cap form where you provide all your personal and educational details and then you are told to fill out a list where you put your preferred Colleges in the list as per your preference. Then the results of the first cap are declared after a few days. If you are allotted a College that you like you go to the College & confirm your admission within 3-5days of the cap results, or you can wait for the next cap round where you re-fill the form. There are 3 cap rounds in total
Faculty
A few teachers were really good at what the did. The others? Were just there cause they were persuing a higher degree from the College or just because they couldn't find any other job. Such teachers were just there to take a piss out of the students, treating them the worse they could.
