What's New in GPN?
Government Polytechnic Admission 2024 for Diploma (Polytechnic) is open against vacant seats after the third round. Institute-level Spot Admission will be held between Sept 4 to Sept 6, 2024. Further, in case of more vacant seats, admission round will be held on Sept 9, 2024 from 10 a.m.
About GPN
Established in 1914, the Government Polytechnic, Nagpur (GP Nagpur) is one of the oldest technical institutes in Central India. The college offers 12 diploma programs. The admission to the college is based on merit.
Started with a mere total of 16 students, GPN today hosts over 2000 students admitted in twelve diploma programs. The total number of students placed in the 2018-19 placement season was 82. Some of the top recruiting companies at GPN are CEAT, Tata Motors, and Ashok Leyland.

Government Polytechnic Nagpur Awards
Nagpur’s Government Polytechnic was awarded the 1996 ISTE Monjee award for overall best performance and the best polytechnic award of Government of Maharashtra in the year 1997. The institute was also awarded the World Bank assisted Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) through which it received INR 2.55 crores.

The institute offers 12 diploma programs offered in two shifts. All twelve courses are offered in the first shift and three courses are offered in the second shift. The details of the courses are given below:

Government Polytechnic Nagpur Admission
The admission process is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. To acquire admission to any of its diploma courses, the candidate should fulfil the minimum eligibility of completing the senior secondary examination or its equivalent.
How to Apply?
- Candidates must the online form available at the DTE website https://poly20.dtemaharashtra.org/diploma20/
- Upload all the required documents
- Once the documents are verified, the provisional merit list of selected candidates and their allotted polytechnic is displayed on the DTE website
Government Polytechnic Nagpur Facilities
The institute offers many facilities to its students, helping them to gain both academic and industry knowledge. Here is a list of facilities offered by the institute-
- Library: There are a total of 40,000 books and 2000 reference books on engineering/ technology housed at the institute’s library. The library also has a subscription of 25 technical magazines. It has a robust reading space available for the students with timing from 9.30 AM to 5.45 PM for its members.
- Gymkhana: For the overall development of students and inculcate sportsmanship, the institute offers its students with a gymkhana. It conducts various events and programs throughout the years. The annual gymkhana fees per student are INR 200.
- Hostel: The institute has a hostel for their male and female students. The capacity of boys and girls hostels are 180 and 54 respectively. The facilities available at the hostel include drinking water, TV room, gymkhana, clean bathroom, 24x7 security, medical officer, newspaper, mess, sports, complaint/ suggestion box, and newspapers.
- Women’s Wing: There is a separate women’s wing for all the female students of GPN. This wing aims to motivate female students, organize events/ programs for their overall personality development, provide female students self-defence and entrepreneurship engagements, and organize regular health camps for check-ups.

- The first thing i disliked was that students used to vape and smoke cigerattes in campus and the faculty would just turn a blind eye to the students

For taking admission you need to fill out the diploma CAP round. To find the details for it, just download the MAHA-CET-CELL app on Play Store, it consists of all the information necessary. It takes place by DTE and if you are in the open category you would need above 80 per cent to be admitted to this branch

After the 10th or 12th students can apply for this course through dte site. After registration on site you have to verify your document from any dte center near you. The merit list is displayed. Then you have to apply for a cap round. You can apply through reservation. After the cap round, if the college is allotted to you then you can take admission.

After the 10th and 12th you have to be eligible for admission to government polytechnic Nagpur and the admission process is so simple you have to go to College and collect one brochure and read it carefully that brochure has occupied all the steps you have to need at the time of admission come to the fees, fees is very low for open 6000 and for reservation 3000 maximum and if you want to take the benefits of scholarship then fill it every year.

No, the college did not require any entrance examination result score only the thing is you need a good score in your 10th standard, the college cut-off may vary from branch to branch, I was admitted in the Electrical Branch at 84.40% and my seat type was TFWS. which means that I had paid much less fees than any other students.

You can get admission in this course after 10th in 1st year and after 12th in the second year. Seats are reserved by category like sc st OBC and open. 12th and 10th marks are the maxima for your selection. If you have your cast certificate you will get your cast benefits. first, you need to fill online form and pay 300 rs, and if you are selected you will need to get admission to college and you need to pay your category-wise fees. I was paid 7500rs.

Physical you can get admission on the basis of your 10th mark. The application form is available online on the Maharashtra government site where we have to apply it and we have to play for cap rounds. For OBC and SC, category fees are about 1600 rupees where is for open it is about 7600 rupees. The admission process is easy E and there is no problem in the admission process.
