Great opportunity to learn.

The college is very good in terms of opportunities provided but it doesn't focus on PG students as much as it does on UG students and that is one area where improvement is really required.

I took GATE and scored 39.67 in Biotechnology I was allotted M.Tech in environmental engineering under Civil Engineering Department in NIT Trichy the admission process was easy and hassle free and most of it was done online.

The course structure is pretty good with great focus on developing technical knowledge the Civil engineering department also focuses on research and is very supportive in this area M.Tech students have the last two semesters reserved only for research projects.

Companies visit the campus for paid internships but mostly for B.Tech students. PG students do not have many opportunities in this regard and most of us have to find internships on our own the companies that do open for PG students offer reasonable stipends for students of circuital branches, while for core branches, not so much.

Placements and job opportunities are really good with a large number of reputed companies visiting for campus placements these companies also offer large CTC packages and some students even got a package of rs 25 lpa though PG students don't enjoy the kind of placement oppurtunities that the UG students do and only a small number of us get placed from college.

We have a number of fests the main ones are festember It is the official cultural fest of NIT Trichy it attracts a large crowd and is very popular among other colleges too pragyan it is our cultural fest and is appreciated and taken part in by a lot of other colleges of southern IndiaThere are plenty of other events too that are held throughout the year.

The fees tructure was quite feasble for us but now fees have been increased by MHRD and it's a little bit expensive now tuition fees per semester is almost rs 40000 and hostel fees is rs 22000 getting a student loan is not all that difficult and SBI is always ready to provide the students who need it.

There are a lot of sholarships provided for students of NITT by governments both national and state scholarship is also given by the college to toppers of each class availing student loan is not difficult and SBI in our campus easily provides loans to those who need it.

Campus life is good the gender ratio is unbalanced with 1:4 girls to boys ratio there are plenty of extracurricular and sports activity to take part in there are plenty of workshops that we can attend too there is no racial discrimination or any intolerance of any kind.

The hostel and mess facilities are below par to other NITs and no single rooms are ever given to B. tech students the caterers in mess prepare food that doesn't taste good at all the campus also doesn't look very nice and lags behind other NITs in this as

The alumni network is very strong and the RECAL team maintains contacts of all alumni the aumni also take great interes in happenings of the campus and keep visiting they are also ready to provide the juniors with any kind of help needed.

There are 2 mid sem exams and one final end semester exam these 3 amount to 80% weightage in exams. Exams and labs aren't too hectic and it is pretty chilled out most of the time. The only hectic time is during mid sems when we have two exams per day M.Te
