Remarks

Overall good experience. Positive remarks include good teaching, excellent patient practice and good knowledge. Negative remark include mess is not there and we have to compromise about lunch sometimes.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Truely speaking, I have no hard feelings or any complaint about curriculum but if one wishes, curriculum can be reduced. During 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, we have same syllabus as MBBS student but it is of smaller version. Because a dentist is afterall a doctor too. During 4th/final year we have seperate 7 seperate subjects of dentistry. Exam structure consists of theory paper, viva and practicals. MCQ questions are not being asked in university exam pattern.

Placement Experience

4

Yes, our college provides internship for 1 year. It includes 2 months periphary term means we have to go to different place amd serve as doctor in that place. Stipend is given 12000 per month. It is quite enough. After graduation, currently in india there are a lot of compition. So to sustain, you must have enough skill and knowledge. Without knowledge, you are nothing. In our college, there are more than enough patient to practice upon.

College Events

3

There are very few events that occur in our college. Interns organizes these events. During navratri, garba event is organized. But not every year. Sometime, it is difficult to get permission to we have to postpone it. Farewell fuction is also organized that include various days like signature day, denim day, traditional day etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. During our admission (before 3 years) fee structure was 4000 per year. Quite cheap, right! But now it is increased to 20,000 per year. But still it can not be considered as expensive in comparison with private college.

Fees and Financial Aid

No as I'm in general quota, no scholarship is available for me and other general category students. For OBC students, scholarship is offered and its amount vary from person to person. For SC/ST category student books are also provided by government.

Campus Life

4.5

There are very less amount of extracurricular sports. Because we have very less free time. But it depends upon personal interest. Some may go for cricket or some may go for bad minton after college time.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes. I'm leaving in hostel. Just yesterday our new hostel was alloted to us placed just beside our college in civil hospital campus. Before that we were leaving in Mental Hospital quater. New hostel is quite impressive.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are quite helpful. Most of clinical work are known from seniors. They help us in our exams, they give us IMPs and they help us in every aspect we need. But we have to give them respect that they need.

Admission

I had got my admission done through GUJCET exam. But it was the last year of exam pattern. From then onwards admission is done by NEET-UG exam. Admission process consists of 3 online round containg mop-up round and 1 offline round mostly done in BJ medical college, Ahmedabad. After final confirmation, you can get your seat confirmed.

Faculty

4

Overall good but it depends upon the teacher of specific subject. Most of teachers are good at their work. But exception will be there always. Again it depends upon personal opinion and vary from student to student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college is giving 2 hours per day in posting for 3rd year students which is the best for us to learn this early how to do pateint. They held free check up sessions for poor people who are able to afford fees of treatment nd for school students also. Exams timings is of 3 hours and we have long ans.questions which is very difficult to finish them up.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So curriculum I think is okay actually. Subjects that are actually related to dentistry have been focused more. Exam frequency is perfect according to my college we have enough break time and study time both. Teaching method should slightly changed as in more advancements are definately needed. For example nowadays for normal restoration people use composite in private clinics but composites practically are taught in internship in colleges. Actually it should be taught in final year itself. However in exams we have amalgam only so it's not college's fault

The faculty over here is at par excellence though bds is the toughest course out faculty makes it easy for us here 3:1 girls boys ratio is seen usually in the dental colleges all the faculty members are doctors either MBBS or bds/MDS. Every 2 months there are internal exams and before the university exams, there are prelims taken for us.
