Remarks

Infrastructure facilities are fine and also adequate but they are not utilized properly. There are computer labs but students are not taken frequently and rarely once a month lab classes are taken. Also teachers are well educated with degrees like BTech, Phd, MTech etc but are not able to teach the students the same way as their degree on paper tells. Seminar fees of 500/semester is taken but out of total students only 8-10 students give seminar and no attention by professors are paid.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is like btech comp sci but less practical intensive. Course structure is basically theoritical knowledge and remembering and answering in exam. Also there are total 6 semesters and each semester is of 6 months. Every semester has 2 unit tests which are of 20 marks. Lab periods are there every week but less attention is paid to them.

Placement Experience

2.5

There are some placement and job opportunities also directly from college. Recently TCS(Tata Consultancy Services) visited and also informed the students about their selection criteria and how interview is taken. Top 3 or 4 scores of computer science stream also get job offer from companies like TCS or Infosys but such jobs are average and not high paying. Most students opt for Further Studies.

College Events

2

Various events like sports day, annual function, spring function debate speech competition drawing complete are held. Rangoli making is also a competition held in our college Generally they are not so big and Chief Guest is from Nearbuly College Like NIT, Rourkela Participating candidates are from college only like +2, +3 and the PG students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is not expensive. Its a little bit high for the Self Financing Department like Computer science. Yearly fees for BSc SELF FINANCING(COMP SC) - 18000 ALL OTHER(SCIENCE ALL, COMMERCE ALL) - 3000

Fees and Financial Aid

There is one scholarship available for students opting for Science stream which gives the 3000 per year for college expenses but this is not for SF( Comp Sci) Department. Basically no major loans or scholarship is available. Merit students have some government provided scholarship but these are for mostly OBC or SC/ST students.

Campus Life

4

Labs are present and whenever nescessary student are taken to lab. Workshop are regularly held for staff as well as students. Annual Seminar was also organized this year. Seminar on economic crisis was also there.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I live in my college hostel. The hostel fees is not more staying fees is 500 rs per month. For food our hostel has mess The quality of food is not good and average. There are 5 hostels 2 for girls and each had its own mess. There are adequate rooms Each room has 3 single beds and 3 students live in one room. SC /ST have their own hostel they pay only 50Rs/Month.

Alumni/Alumna

There are some seniors who are helpful. But most senior talk to students due to their self benefit reasons. Each senior talk to students for election benefit to win the students Union elections. When I went to college for first few days some seniors greeted me politely and I was surprised by the behaviour but then after some days realized that the person was standing for students Union president. Also once election are over the same person never recognized me or my college mates.

Admission

Admission is done by filling online form. I filled online form and then deposited my online application with all my documents like marksheet, migration certificate and all other documents at my nearest center. The after the gap of 1 month the selection list is declared in rounds. I got 85% in 12th so my name came in first list.

Faculty

3

The faculty is knowledgeable. The professors have adequate knowledge but somehow are not able to make us understand the same easily. We have to refer to the internet for better understanding of our course. Also the intrest of faculty is mostly average to teach due to which there are very less classes.
