Remarks

The great positive factor about this college is the infrastructure it provides to facilitate the academic needs of students. The college is very easily accessible as it is in the major national highway passing throught the state of Tamil Nadu. The campus is filled with lush greenery with a lot of trees. There are no notable negative remarks when compared to the positivities the college offers us.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is pretty well maintained. Since my course is partnered with IBM I have one special course every semester that teaches me what the industry demands. Also the level of difficulty is also mediocre, most of the core subjects are well crafted in such a way that it does not put much burden on students. The exam structure is a very good one. Each semester there are 3 exams-2 internal exams to analyse the timely performance of the student and one final exam to analyze the total performance. The final semester exam would also have lab examinations.

Placement Experience

3.5

A lot of esteemed companies such as Accenture, Infosys, L&T, Sony, etc have come in for campus recruitment and a lot students do get placed. Our college does not provide any internship facility on its own other than for B.Arch department. But it provides and supports us with all thr necessary documentations and work required for a student to do an internship outside.

College Events

3

Our college does not host a lot of events. The ones celebrated are- 1. Onam-The harvest festival of state kerala is celebrated with joy and fun by all the malayali students 2. Orion-This the year college fest that last for 3 days where students express their talent through cultural extravaganza. 3. AICE-This is an annual islamic event that is held in our college that hosts a lot of competitions related to the Islamic religion. 4. Department symposiums- Towards the end of each academic year, every department in the college hosts symposiums with a lot of technical and non technical events. 5. Pongal- The harvest festival of Tamil Nadu is celebrated with great joy by all the students by wearing traditional dress and by taking part in various fun events. 6. Foundation cup- Every year an inter college football tournament is organized. 7. Annual sports meet- A lot of intra college events such as athletics, football, cricket, badminton are held so as to showcase the talents of students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is completely based on our qualifying grade 12 marks. The fees are pretty expensive when compared to most of the engineering colleges in my state. My course demands a fee of Rs.1,00,000 per semester and Rs.50,000 per year for specialisation making me to pay a whopping amount of Rs.2,50,000 every year just as tuition fee. So for 4 years(or 8 semsters), it would cost me Rs.10,00,000 just as tuition fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college is very benevolent when it comes to scholarships. A lot of need based aids are provided to students when they submit letters with required proofs. Also our college is listed under the central government scholarship lists which allows the student to select and avail the required scholarship based on his situation.

Campus Life

4.5

The extracurricular activities are pretty good. The lab facilities are all of high quality. There is a very good sports department in college that supports students to go for inter university tournaments. A yearly inter college football tournament name after our late founder B.S Abdur Rahman is also organized every year. The ground has a 400m athletic track and full fledged football field with floodlights which allows to play at night. There is also net cricket pitches. The college gym is a very good one with all the equipments required to train and take care of our health. A canteen with a wide variety of cuisines, a department store to purchase all our day to day needs.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I am hosteller. The hostel facilities are just average. There are different blocks for different year students. The blocks alloted for first, third and fourth year students are newly built but the block for second year students are very bad. The AC rooms have attached bathrooms whereas in non AC rooms, the bathrooms are commonly shared. There is 24/7 water(drinking water also) supply and backup generator incase if the electricity goes out. There is also a full time broadband wifi connection which facilitates and encourages the students to learn from the internet.

Alumni/Alumna

Our college has a strong alumni network with a lot of them working as great positions in various esteemed organization. Tamil actress Priya Bhavani Shankar and actors Karthi and Arya are few of the most notable alumnis. A lot of alumnis come back to college for recruitment to their startups and to share the experiences which would motivate the students a big time.

Admission

The story behind my admission is pretty long. I was a person who had a very keen interest towards computers and its working, as time passed the desire grew more and more. This was the reason I wanted to do a course on Artificial Intelligence and this is one of the few colleges in the country that offer course by partnering with IBM. The admission procedures are pretty simple, they are- 1. First the student needs to apply for the University through the application portal in their official website where he would need to enter his grade 12 marks. 2. Then he may or may not be listed for an entrance exam. 3. Once selected, an admission letter with a counselling date is sent to the applicant. 4. On the counselling day, the student is expected to pay the 1st semester fee and also other fees(such as hostel and bus facilities-if opting). 5. Once the fee is paid then admission is confirmed.

Faculty

4

The faculty of our college are very well versed, especially my department. All th professors have completed their Phds from great universities and the method of teaching is really good. Even the supporting staff for professors are mostly PG graduates who are doing Phd under these professors.
