Remarks

Our college is well known for its Infrastructure it has. Literally no other VTU college in this area has such a good infrastructure. The bonus point of joining Sahyadri is that you get exposed to various parts of IITs and NITs of the nation which most of the college don't allow. The college is more relied onto projects we do than mugging up and getting marks. So these were the positive remarks. Speaking about negative remarks. well I can say that we get very less holidays and college events compared to the others colleges nearby.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The current engineering course which I'm persuing is based on VTU system. We have a total of 8sems each of around 5-6 months each. The exams of even sems ie., 2nd, 4th, 6th & 8th occur in the month of July and the even sems occur during the month of December. We have 3 internals and assignments which comprise around 40% of our marks to the final results.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement in our college is the best comparing any VTU college in and around the city of Mangalore. We have certain criteria to join the placements. usually most of them are eligible. Thanks to the placement team who train us vigorously to get into good companies of good packages. Regarding Internships we have some well known startups like Dreamers(robotic), Challengers & Flotanomers(aviation) and the RDL(research)

College Events

5

Our college is more well known for the technical event they host more than cultural. At the beginning of year we have Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt. which is for the young guns who are enthusiastic and have urge of making a better tomorrow. For the engineering students there are events like Robo race, coding and some more technicals collectively called as 'Kindle'. The cultural program we have here is the 'Sinchana' which is celebrated on the day of Kannada Rajyothsava (Nov 1). Apart from this we have branch entries and graduation day too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I would say that it's above moderate. Not too expensive but yes compared to VTU colleges. It is bit expensive but then we even have well furnished infrastructures, project fundings and separate aptitude training centre which I say is worth paying for. So yes! Worth investing.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship and loans offered by college are Arivu loan for SC,ST. Merit loan for Christians and Muslims. Vidya Sarathi and Epass for non general category people. There is also good scholarship for top scorers and sports and cultural achievers.

Campus Life

4.5

The extracurricular activities here are very good. we have good exposure to various NITs and IITs. every year each section is sent to various part of nation to partake there and learn more things. The labs are well furnished and have good internet connectivity too. Even the sports sector of the college is good. They are trained very well and most of the time they end up bagging a medal without any doubt :)

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni and the seniors are all good to us. They help us know various things, guide us in our studies. Tell us what to opt and what to avoid. Raging is the last thing you can expect from them. They help us in our extracurricular activities, our projects and much more.

Admission

I got into this college through an entrance exam called CET. I had to go to a center and then choose this college and the course I was willing form Later I had to pay fees to the college which was the CET fees and the college fees for extra courses. That is how I was admitted in this college :)

Faculty

4

The faculty is kind off good, follow strict rules, don't violate any. Teaching is not a concern at all. they do complete portions on time which is what every engineering student asks for. They are kind and guide us and provide every technical and moral support we need for our progress.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
