Remarks

The infrastructure is really good, resources are plenty- one just needs to master the art of utilizing them properly. The only aspect where IIFM lacks is placement figs- not as good as an IIM or other Pvt colleges, but still a good ROI. Although the figures are improving every year, the Sustainability Management course students definitely have an edge over FM guys when it comes to packages.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is intense indeed; Apart from niche subjects, general or core management subjects are also taught. The academic year 2020 will see a change in the curriculum through- no. of periods in a day will be reduced, some papers/ courses/ subjects will be eliminated and replaced by industry-centric subjects.

Placement Experience

3.5

You name the sector and its there in the placement record! Companies, for both SI and Placements, come here from sectors including but not limited to the development, wildlife, environment, market research, rural, corporate, NGOs, forestry, paper and pulp industries, microfinance, etc. UNDP, UNICEF, Annapurna, WWF, Kantar are some of our top-notch recruiters.

College Events

4

IIFM is known for its cultural diversity and so we celebrate almost all festivals here- Lohri, Basant Panchami, Holi, Id, Christmas, Pongal, etc. We celebrate the essence of life- the monsoon- as "Monsoon Nights", and hold other cultural fests including dance, music, drama and whatnot. Apart from cultural, IIFM also organises an annual business Conclave- Coalescence.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee has been increasing for the past 2 years. The 2019-21 batch paid around 6.25 lacs (general) and 3.75 lacs (SC/ST). Mess charges are separate and not included in this. This sum covers tuition fees, hostel fees, teaching material and library charges, medical purpose etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

One can easily avail the loan in the name of IIFM, it falls in category A of certain banks like the SBI. To compare bank rates of a couple of them before deciding and also check for the college's name in premier lists of the banks- there's less ROI that one needs to pay for such colleges.

Campus Life

4

You can get better insights into the campus life on its Facebook and Insta handle. As I mentioned, its a culturally diverse campus. We have several clubs/ committees- drama, literary, entrepreneurship development cell, sports club, mess committee, cultural club etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Our network is our net worth. This is the tagline of our alumni network committee. Its an all-time working committee, and we are proud to have an intense network of alumni who are engaged in almost all sectors- govt., corporate, research, academic, entrepreneurs name a company and we'll have an alum there. They are extremely helpful- you call/ ping them anytime, and they will be all set to help you out.

Admission

Applicant must appear for CAT/XAT and score a decent percentile. The cut off for the same for CAT 2017/ XAT 2018 was 78, while it was 80 the following year. Once you register yourself and you are shortlisted for the PI, WAT process, you'll be allotted a centre for the same. After the process, keep an eye on the official website and the admission list will be out generally within a month.

Faculty

4

The faculty is excellent: highly qualified- both academically and professionally; most of them hold experience of more than a decade. The forestry subjects are taught by IFS officers, ensuring that you get the best of it from the best in service. Apart from regular faculty, we have guest lecturers as well- some are alumni, some industry experts, few retired IFS, etc.

Remarks:

The college has considerably reduced the percentile criteria for admission that has led to mediocrity. Also the college is losing it's niche by giving non sectoral subjects more importance than the niche related subjects. No student goes unnoticed in the campus and so the individuality of students remains preserved.

Niche sector, Campus, Contribution towards society with attractive placement statistics. These are the main factors which drove me to take admission into the college. The things I like most about this institute are it's college life, mess food, peer learning, sports complex etc.

The college campus is the best thing about the college. It is not a place to pursue management for those who want to jobs specific to marketing, HR or pure corporate. Although students passing from here also get into these sector but this is not for what IIFM is known for. It is much more beyond that. It believes in serving the society and nature for what it has given us.

The institution despite being an Indian institute has lost its sheen because of ignorance of the Central government. At current times, when the world is facing the serious issue of climate change and various externalities arising out of it, an IIFMite has a huge role to play and this can only happen when this is acknowledged by the center. The institution is goodThe gender just that the ignorance of some people has to lead to its false positioning in the market.

There are only good comments for our college not because I am the student of college but when I joined the college I came to know about how college has different hierarchy levels and how they initiate their work. Later on, we get the best knowledge from our faculties. They taught us very well and prepared us for next level. College alwys engage us in extra curricular activities other than academics like guest session, virtual stock market games, debates , group discussions, sports , cultural fests etc.
