Excellent university for working professional to pursue Ph.D program

Excellent Management of university and complete focus is on the development of an individual. VC of the university is very dynamic, student-oriented.

ICFAI, Ranchi course curriculum is very much relevant & suitable for PhD. The curriculum is research-oriented with more focus on data analytics and research work. In the first two semesters, I had participated in mandatory coursework of one week each. After completion of coursework, I appeared for coursework exam. After passing out the coursework program I had prepared PhD synopsis and got enrolled with my PhD topic.

University has tie-ups with a large number of companies for placement and internship. Every year students get opportunity to appear for campus placement. Majorly PhD scholars are working professionals hence placement support needed for them.

ICFAI University, Ranchi is having multiple departments like management, engineering, law. Every month department wise conference and seminars got organised in which academicians and researchers from all parts of the country participated and also these events are an opportunity for university students to get themselves exposure in various interdisciplinary courses.

There are two types of the course fee. Students of Jharkhand gets a special fee to waive off in their semester fee. For PhD students Rs40,000 per semester in the course fee for all and students of Jharkhand state Rs35,000 per semester is the course fee. The normal course program is of 4 years but it can get extended up to 6 years provide students are required to submit their semester fee.

As I am a working professional hence I had not opted for any scholarship. I had also not taken any loan from any financial institution for the program.

ICFAI University is having its own campus in Daladali, Ring Road, Ranchi. The campus atmosphere is very peaceful and well connected with the road. Ranchi town is also well connected by Road, Train, Flight. There is a separate lab for different streams of engineering students. There are counselling room and VC room available on the campus.

Yes, all PhD scholars of the university are sharing common mail group. All PhD, Management and Engineering students are well connected with the university. Alumni network helps in knowledge sharing, internship and placement support also.

There is an advertisement in all leading newspaper for Research Aptitude test of the university. Basic advertisement I had applied for the PhD program with form and all desired details. Post submission of form I got shortlisted for the personal interview. Post selection in an interview I got admission in the PhD program.

Faculties are available in university in all working days also they are available on-line in case of any support needed. There is mandatory semester wise progress review and presentation in which PhD scholars required to present themselves in the university. Basis feedback from review committee PhD scholars is required to work.
