Remarks

Manav Rachna international institute of research and studies is excellent in teaching their amiable approach towards students is helpful but overall for quest of excellent environment that can foster a high quality education is lacking and major flaws in curriculum system.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum for B.tech Biotechnology is more inclined on theory rather than practicals. Subjects are outdated that are not in current demand in market. What we study and what we going to work as a core Biotechnologist has a gap. The major flaw is compelled research work I'm commencement of 3rd semester student have to present research work in form of review paper, research paper, practical work etc in each successive semesters not everyone is interested in research some possess buisness oriented approach and it's difficult for students who find difficult to indulge in research work as it's a mandatory till end semester. Lab experiments are also limited and banal though faculties tries to give you a insight of actual lab work but that ain't sufficient until unless you do by your own hands and all lab activities done in a group we merely stand as a spectator while lab technician hone it's skills with chemicals. Thus, you have to be in a mindset to do research work with a limited lab resources.

College Events

3.5

Department of students and welfare conduct all events held in college students can be a part and volunteer also. Yearly our college organise Fest and fresher party for new commers that is celebrated very vivaciously. Apart from this we conduct various inter/ intra college competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for engineering is 1,65,500 rupees for 1 year. Excluding travel and accommodation expenses. 1 lac is tuition fee if student had good score in HSC they can avail scholarship from college. Fee structure is not feasible as students have to bear additional travel expenses, accommodation for students coming from remote areas. Student have to pay additionally for fest and freshers or to participate in any event this will not be including in fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

College providing a scholarship for meritorious students who have scored well in their HSC. For 70-80% Scorers 25% fee waiver in tuition fees. For 80-89% Scorers 50% fee waiver and for students who have scored more than 90% in 12th get 100% Scholarship on tuition fees. But there is condition to maintain the scholarship. Student have to maintain the 7.5 CGPA without any arrears throughout the semester along with 75% attendance criteria. Failing in any will result discontinue of scholarship facility and can not be avail again in later semesters.

Campus Life

4

For ECA there is basketball court and a cricket ground but that is not equipped with any facilities. There is shooting range also in college but they will charge additionally for enrollment and since college have strict criteria to maintain 75% attendance in each subjects students find difficult to spare time for extra curricular activities. No sport facilitate for girls you will rarely see girls indulging in sports activities it's very disappointing there is no encouragement also. Whereas in other hand, lab is well equipped facilitated by all requisites equipment with AC and wifi connectivity and there are multiple labs for each department and specialisation.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel infrastructure is good equipped with all necessities. Proper furnished rooms AC and non-AC, single ,double and quadruplet occupancy based on fee division of hostel. Mess area is also good students won't miss homemade food for sure. Canteens, library, sports arena are within Hostel premises.

Alumni/Alumna

College does not conduct any activities that juniors can interact with seniors it is ensured to have minimum interaction to avoid ragging or bullying which is good at other side of coin but to interact and to get to know their experiences student have to approach personally usually seniors are helpful they share their internship and placement experience if necessary they guide also in procedures.Same imply with alumni network also.

Exam Structure

Engineering course divided into 8 semesters. Each semester duration is 6 months and in each semester we have 2 sessional exams compirse of 30 marks in each subject. Average of both sessionals are concluded in final evaluation. After 1st sessional we have internal practicals that hosted by department faculties. Then after a passage of a 45 days we have 2nd sessionals that are followed by external practicals that hosted by non college/ non department faculties to avoid any discrepancy. After that we have end semester exam that is comprise of 100 marks. Thus, each subject will be of 150 marks. Questions usually are theoretical and average to attempt.

Admission

The admission process back then was entirely upon the marks obtained in HSC.The minimum criteria to get admission in any branch is 65%. If the desired course is engineering the candidate should have PCM as a main subjects in HSC except Biotech engineering where admission is based on aggregate marks obtained in PCB. On the basis of marks college provide scholarship to meritorious students if your marks is 70-80% you will get 25 % scholarship that will be deducted from tuition fees. If you have scored 80-89% you will get 50% Scholarship and if marks above than 90% then 100% fee waiver in tuition fees. Updated admission process is done by entrance exam of college that is different for each course available here. Minimum cut off is 60%. Marks obtained in HSC and merit entrance exam of manav rachna both will be concluded for admission. A candidate should score 60% combined scores of 12th grade and entrance exam to get admission. No interview is conducted for any undergraduate courses.

Faculty

4.5

College faculty is the best asset of this university. They are amiable and kind to help you in anyway. Student with other branch can always get the help of faculties of non department and labs also always open for students they can go without any hassle and sort out their queries. In college there is a separate cell for training and placement that help students in career growth. There is a separate department for foreign language and studies if anyone interested to be multilingual or seeking opportunities in abroad can always ask for advice and counselling. Apart from that to foster entrepreneurship and research there is a department for same. In short, college have segregate and defined departments for each quieres and assistance. Student will not feel lost or stucked.

Infrastructure and facilities are well maintained and can be given five stars. Teaching and curriculum still need to be updated to make every student future ready rather than a bookworm or a crammer. The coding environment is still less and needs to be improved.
