Remarks

Positive - the infrastructure and facilities provided by MUJ are excellent. And there aren't many colleges that can match up to their standards in terms of this. Negative - considering that MUJ is only about 6-7 years old, it's still a new and budding college seeking acceptance and recognition.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is good, considering the present requirements in the corporate industry today. Subjects like Data Mining and Computer networks are taught in IT and CS. Most of the material is available online through E-books and videos. They also start focusing on the domains which are important for the recruitment drive, and help us focus on such domains.

Internships Opportunities

Our college does provide internships, starting in the 3rd year. Although, I never opted for them. Instead, I went for internships through my own personal contacts. The internships provided by the college are either mentioned by professors or official mails sent out to all students. They even collaborate with international universities to provide students with research-based internships.

Placement Experience

4

During my placement drive at the beginning of the 4th year, there were quite a few companies coming in, such as Dell, Microsoft, Mahindra Tech, etc. There were even mass-recruiting and service-based companies coming in, which recruited the bulk of the students applying. The professors managing the recruitment drive made sure all the students got an equal opportunity to sit for placements based on merit. For example, Microsoft managed to hire around 12 students in a single drive in 2018 from MUJ. Service-based companies recruited around 50-60 students.

College Events

5

There were quite a few fests and activities happening all around the year at MUJ. Mainly there were 2 fests- the Cultural fest and the Tech Fest for B Tech students. Other courses such as Law, architecture, and fashion designing held their own fests independently. But the cultural fest was common for all. Lots of clubs were created which held activities all the time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Considering that MUJ is a private college. The fee is slightly expensive. And unfortunately, they have increased the fee for the Juniors in the past 2 years. But considering the facilities provided, the cost is worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

During the first year. Students who scored one of the highest GPAs did get scholarships for future years. Loans and EMIs are also provided. Although I don't know exactly how the process of all this works, since I hadn't opted for any. For further information, people can always refer to the MUJ official website and helpline numbers.

Campus Life

5

There were good facilities and infrastructure for extracurricular activities at a subsidized cost. During my stay, they even built a sports arena with badminton courts, squash courts, and Pool tables. I've heard that they're also building a swimming pool soon on campus.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel infrastructure and facilities are some of the best things about MUJ. It has been awarded many times for having the best hostel and campus in Northern India. There were no faults I could find during my stay at the hostel for the past three and half years. Safety for girls is also taken very seriously with good security all around the campus. And strict rules are implemented.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students are extremely interactive and helpful. They never expressed a sense of superiority over the Juniors in any way. Even during fests or other activities. Even raging and bullying rarely took place due to the strict rules implemented on campus.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was quite organized. Just like any other engineering college. We had 2 sets of tests before the final exam. And practical sessions were also conducted. Some of the subjects were made open-book, meaning we could refer to certain materials during the exam as the questions given were application-based.

Admission

I had given the entrance exam for Manipal. Also known as the MU OET in 2015. And considering the score I got, I was eligible for the branch of Information Technology in the Jaipur campus. I also had the option of taking up Chemical Engineering at MIT's main campus. Although I was inclined towards CS subjects. After that, we were called to visit and tour the campus a few days before joining. The rest of the admission process takes place on campus without any hassle.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculty at MUJ is from local Jaipur with PhDs and Master's qualifications. Every college does have professors that aren't able to reach out and connect with the students. The same goes here. Although some of the professors were really knowledgeable regarding the subjects they taught. Nevertheless, the faculty was helpful and understanding towards the needs of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum includes lab works, workshops and seminars. Which influence the choice to choose the course. But they are lacking to get hands on experience. Though they are guest lectures and seminar which is highly beneficial. Need to provide report on summer internship, industrial training, which is mandatory according to curriculum. Which helps in gaining hands on real life skills. But students still pass this barrier using fake certification and copied reports. And faculty is not strict about this. I believe the latest technologies which is not integrated in curriculum like AI/ ML ,recent frameworks , even if integrated not taughtd in depth. Like we have subjects AI , ML but no practical learning. Assignment are huge burden with little learning we need assessment that tests understanding rather than memorization. More subjects needed on softs skills especially in last year during placement season. Live project with company as all student are not able to land good internships. Frequency of exams like midterm( 2 in 3-4 months) ,practical( at the end of semester just after 2 nd midterm exam). End semester exams - 10-20 days after practical exams.

Placements at MIT are excellent and begin in the seventh semester. Our college attracts top tier companies and for the 2024 graduating batch. Major recruiters included Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Adobe, and Samsung. The placement statistics are very strong with the highest package being 52.28 lakhs per annum, the average package Being 14.5 lakhs per annum with over 95 percentage of students participating in the placement process My personal plan after getting my degree to join a leading tech firm as a software development engineer, I want to gain a few years of industry experience to apply the practical skills. I've learnt that before deciding on further specialisation or higher studies.
