Remarks

AIIMS RAIPUR is best medical college in the state of Chhattisgarh and it is one of the 7 AIIMS which were opened under GOVERNMENT OF INDIA to provide tertiary care to Poor people and giving cheap health care facilities to all.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is very vast it includes 19 subjects of non- clinical , paraclinical and clinical branches of medicine. The course is of 5.5 years including 1 year of internship and 4.5 years of graduation . There are 3 main exams which are called as professional exams and various terminal and mid term exams which also caries equal importance in your final mark list. The exam has 50 % practical marks and 50%theory marks which according to me is essential as becoming a doctor without practical knowledge is dangerous for the society in general and to the individual in particular. Exams are bit stressful as syllabus is very very vast and rarely we get Holidays before the exams for preparation . The exam pattern is overall good as it tries to cover whole syllabus and provides student multiple chances to revise and retain. Theory exam also has MCQ questions which are necessary from entrance point of view for post graduation. Overall the pattern is very good and gives a student all kinds of exposure.

Placement Experience

5

Placement are not as there they happen in Engineering We have to give Pg entrance exam for pg and if someone wants to join as Junior resident or medical officer then Being an AIIMS graduate we are given preference. Yes AIIMS RAIPUR provides Internship for 1 year and gives a salary of around 25000 in Internship and above 2 lakhs for Doctors joining as clinician.

College Events

3.5

Our College celebrates all cultural events be it Diwali , Holi, Dusshera, Durga puja , Ganesh visarjan, Christmas . Also we celebrate South Indian festivals like Onam and Pongal. Our College has Central India's biggest fest ORIANA in which Colleges from all over india come and participate in all Events We have an average footfall of around 15000 students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very cheap just 5587 ruppes for whole 5 and half years. It includes everything from hostel charges to exams and practical classes everything Security fees is also included in this money only In whole India this is the cheapest College as per fees is concerned

Fees and Financial Aid

No no such scholarship is given Actually the College should start one as students from poor family can't afford the medical books and other equipments necessary for medical education. State may be providing the reservation category people huge scholarship but to general student nothing is given.

Campus Life

3.5

Sports were not good in starting but now we have almost all sports and with full equipment and a fully functional gym for all students and faculty The laboratories are so big and equipped with resources that only a tertiary care institute can only have.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes I live in Boy's hostel Hostels are new and we'll furnished All students have their separate rooms and washrooms and cleanliness is as good as home Regular checking of rooms and washrooms are done by hostel incharge. Their are also rules for no smoking and alcoholism in the hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

We have had only 7 years till now since the College is build so not much alumini network is there but ya senior students are always there for us to help us any time anywhere and there no scene of ragging in AIIMS RAIPUR and we are proud of it

Admission

I have AIIMS entrance exam in 2016 in may which is held all over india and then according to the ranks scored the College are alloted in physical counselling. The exam includes Physics , chemistry , biology and general knowledge.

Faculty

5

The faculty in AIIMS RAIPUR is very good and experienced doctors. Few fields are there which have less Faculty but overall Faculty are superb and they have high teaching and clinical skills. The Nonclinical staff has a great place in our hearts and they always supported us at all places.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspect that influenced me is the externals and clinicals that made by decision to take this course because more than theory is the postings and clinicals which are neccessary to become a good doctor and also helps you to gain confidence. This is not just a curriculum but is a priority academics that prepares a student to save ones life which is far more important than just learning or reading. And yes it prepares us very well through clinicals and postings in addition to theory lectures or exams. As per my view, improvements in posting durations is very important than theory durations due to the priority. And yes teaching methods may get improve if some more fresh cadavers may get introduced in college every year. Exam are held in two phases, 3 terminals and 1 final. 3 terminals are held whole year with 3 to 4 months gap and finals at the end of the semester which is the final exam. Terminals exams are easy and quick whereas finals are tough and time consuming.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you're getting into MBBS, you have cleared neet and you have a slight idea of what you're getting yourself into. The subjects are tough, especially anatomy, because of the vastness of the subject. But if you're consistent and making lil efforts everyday, it's achievable without hampering the fun part of college life. Here are a few gem of resources that everyone uses for first year. Biochemistry - jambhulkar notes, Vasudevan/ satyanarayan book Lippincott for advanced studies Physiology - Sembulingam and Guyton. I swear by them. It doesn't get any simpler than this. Ganong for in depth studies Anatomy - Johari for exams Vishram Singh for easy to understand language and super simple diagrams Gray's anatomy for in depth understanding. Embryology - vishram Singh Histology - IB Singh Dissection - Cunningham or Mercy Navis There will be 2 terminal exams 1 pre University and then the final University. Don't rely on lectures to prepare you for this. You'll have to teach yoursel

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it was my parents dream and during childhood my paediatrician also inspired me to become a DR. This college has good faculties. In a subject department there is 1 HOD( head of department), 1 assistant professor,1associate professor, 2-3 demonstrator and many management workers. They are very helpful. Also there are 60 students so it is very helpful for students to understand what professor says. There is good communication between students and professors overall I would say a good bonding is there. All faculties MBBS graduated though some have done PHD also but they have good teaching experiences to make a student understand everything. There are 2 internal exams which are average to pass and one University exam in which you have to pass to go to next year. You have to give a supplementary exam if you fail the University exam or the final exam.
