Overall college is nice one but still requires upgradation in many fields. NBA has accredited the college's 5 courses as "A". Library has been refurnished, newly built NLTs are good example of infrastructure. A new girls hostel, MAITRI has become a part of the infrastructure with a huge capacity of accommodation. But the college faculty focus more on attendance than on teaching?

The course curriculum is decided by an autonomous body, AICTE, and it keeps changing every year. There are two-semester examinations(mid sem and end sem), each semester consists of two class tests. Practicals are also an important part of semester examinations, externals and internals are taken quite seriously. A total score of 70 or more is required to pass in a subject(one must pass theory and practical separately) out of 150. 100 Mark's are of semester examinations and 50 consists of internals(class test, viva, practicals, quizzes, attendance, etc). Failing in a subject in an even semester(2,4,6,8) means the examiner will give the back paper in his next even semester and vice versa. Failing in more than 3 subjects in a year means year back, one has to repeat the whole year. A maximum of 7 years are provided for a B.TECH course. NPTEL has also been included in the curriculum which gives one a degree of B.TECH(hons) instead of B.TECH.

The college has a good placement for students of CSE, IT, EC who are good in coding. In the past years Mechanical and civil have given good placements in MNCs like Honda. The internship has been mandatory since few years. For the students who were not able to get one the college faculty helped them in getting one. Training is mandatory for first-year, college also provides training for free for students who want to.

Fests are a big part of college life. In IET there are branch fests as well as a college fest. Different branches have different names for it such as CSE & IT- Memefiesta CIVIL- Spandan EE,EC&EI- Anukaran MECHANICAL- Mechfest CHEMICAL- Alchemy But the overall college fest has a different place. The cultural fest of the college is ENCORE, sports fest is known as SHAURYOTSAVA, the technical feat is called as PARAKRAM. Every national festival is celebrated in the college with full enthusiasm. CONVERGENCE is another attraction, which is the alumni reunion held every year.

Fees for almost every year is around 1.4 lakhs with hostel accommodation, without hostel it is only about 1 lakh, which is quite feasible. There is government scholarships program for students who have a weak economical background. The amount of scholarship depends upon the category(general/OBCs/ST/SC)of the student. The students who have their guardians in government services cannot avail the scholarship.

Post matrix scholarship provided by the state government is available for students who come from weak economical backgrounds. But the amount varies for different categories students. Students whose parents are in government services cannot be the applicants.

Labs are sufficient in every branch. For chemical and mechanical new departments, buildings are being built(expected completion till 2020)which will be having required instruments for labs and practicals. A new sports complex is under construction, hoping to be complete by 2021. 2 grounds for sports are there which are quiet big in size for football and cricket matches. There is a separate field for basketball and volleyball too. For singing and dancing club the college has a STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTRE. There is a college drama club which practices in the ARENA.

The hostels are not in very good condition but still they are in average conditions. Overcrowding is a problem, new hostels are being built still. Mess is average, there is a canteen in the hostels of 1st and 2nd year students.

The seniors are very helpful. Raging is not a scene in the campus. It feels like a big family. Career advice, some books are also provided by seniors (only when you ask for). In branch and college fest both seniors and juniors work hand in hand.

UPSEE rank is the basis for admission in AKTU colleges. Registration for counseling begins in July-August, there were 3 rounds and one spot round. After getting a seat in the college of my choice, I locked the seat paid an confirmation amount. After the three rounds were over the applicants who have locked their seats were asked to be present in the campus with a number of documents and Demand Drafts for tution fees and hostel(if required).
