My home away from home

The positive remark is that it is the best place to get to know more about all perspectives of life education wise as well as spiritual wise. There are a lot of opportunities given to us which if handled well could lead us to the best place in the future. The negative remark is that we were so pampered and had everything while we were there and it is now difficult for us to manage with the real world.

Since it was a university we had our own curriculum and not that of other universities like Anna university. The curriculum was revised every year and I know this since my sister took the same course after me. We had the choice of opting the subjects and the faculty of our choice which was very helpful. The exam was scheduled as 3 internals and a final external. The same was applied for lab exams as well.

The placements are very good. In fact the percentage of students placed in my batch is 85%. There are a lot of companies coming to recruit and a few that recruit for internships which turn into jobs. The highest package was 17 lakh per annum. We do have a few internships within the campus but mostly it is for the IAESTE which is a foriegn exchange program.

There are 3 main events that happen every year. KEMT, which is a 3 days intercollege sports fest conducted by the university. Megaplay which takes place in December and is the best event,full of culturals and plays and even a 100 voice choir, all mainly focused on the Christmas theme. And Mindkraft which is a technical fest. It is actually a final fest since the event starts 2 weeks earlier in each department and finally concludes with the big fabulous mindkraft full of project displays, technical and non technical games , and many more.

The fee structure was feasible but it has started becoming expensive as they increase the fee every academic year. The university revise the fee structure every year. But there are all kinds of facilities that are very helpful and also has a very good infrastructure.

We have scholarships under the founder's name for under privileged students, we also have a lot of merit scholarships also. It ranges from 1 lakh and below per year. And also scholarships if the student's parents or siblings are alumini.

We have 90 academic working days and 4 non academic working days. The non-academic working days are for club activities. There are a lot of clubs that we can choose from and we get credits which are mandatory to graduate. We need to have atleast 4 non-academic credits by the end of 4 years. We also have a lot of sports and also sports events. The labs are well-equipped and has a lot of facilities and modern technologies.

Yes, I was a resident student. The hostel is the best place about the college. We have the best food. Since there are a large amount of students from all states, we have 5 different menus. The north Indian menu, Tamil Nadu menu, Andra and Kerala menu and there is also an NRI menu. The hostel rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We have gyms, tailoring shops, beauty parlors, department store, food stores, recharge shops,gift shops, fruit shop, Xerox shops and even a photo studio inside the hostel premises. We also have basketball courts and also indoor games room. It is the best hostel.

There are regular almaconnects happening. We even have a portal for all the alumni which is very useful as there are a lot of senior alumni guiding the new ones like us into which company to select or what to study further and where to study, etc.

I applied for the university and I was given the details of the entrance exam, the venue and date. I attended the entrance exam conducted by the then university and was selected. We then had a counseling session where we had to select the course we want to take. The counseling was purely based on the entrance exam results. I then attended the enrollment and I got into the university.

The faculty selection process is left to us. We have to choose the faculty we want. Even though everyone of us always opt for a lenient staff, we always end up scoring good marks and they transfer enough amount of knowledge to us.
