Remarks

The college is a good college in various aspects except for the fact that some of the college's rules are a bit too restrictive. The college expects students to blindly adhere to these rules and does not respond to even valid questions regarding these.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

All courses have a well rounded curriculum. Every course has subjects both related to their major field and the students also have an option of choosing subjects unrelated to their major which interests them. There is one set of continuous assessment exams and a set of third component assignments, the aggregate of which will be considered, along with the end semester examination marks and the students overall marks for the paper.

Placement Experience

2

Students can sit for campus placements in their final year through a cell in the college called as the Career Guidance Cell. Students registered with CGC get to attend aptitude tests, discussions and debates, talks and interviews with top level companies in the city. The college provides internship for B.Voc students. Although internships are a must for other courses like BBA, B.Com Accounting and Finance etc, the students have to look for internships on their own.

College Events

4

The college celebrates a torrent of events ranging from big events like Christmas, Diwali, Onam and Friendship day to other small events like world mental health day, ethnic day, dance nights, Dandiya nights, various culturals events, sports day, college day, club day. The college also organises culture week where the students get to dress up in different types of Indian cultural attire and there are programmes that educate the student population about the rich and wondrous culture of our country.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is extremely feasible, especially for the morning shift courses as it is government aided. Fees are to be paid semester wise. Fees must be paid online through a portal in the students login

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know of any of the scholarship facilities offered by the college but the college does offer scholarship programs to Backward Class and lower class background students. The students are required to set up a bank account with the college branch bank for this purpose.

Campus Life

3

The college offers a wide range of options for extra curricular activities ranging from sports to games to dance to drama. The college has around 16 clubs like dance club, music club, theatrical/drama club, light music club, folk/classical/western dance club.

Alumni/Alumna

There are pretty regular alumni meet ups that I know of. The college has a cell for its alumni which helps them organise events/track down records of the students duration in the college. The college also hosts yearly alumni meets

Admission

Applied with my twelfth grade marks and got called for an interview after which they released a list of selected candidates. The online application can be done after the 12th result announcement and selected candidates get called for an interview via SMS. The interview takes place in the campus and the is headed by the head teachers of the applied course. They ask general and specific questions pertaining to the subject and other general questions like why have you chosen this college etc.

Faculty

4

Stella Maris has a great selection of smart and knowledgeable faculty teaching the students. Professors with vast experience in both teaching and industrial sectors. All professors are friendly and approachable.

Placement Experience:

The placement process begins from the third year i.e. the fifth and sixth sem. But be warned the placement is pure dabba. The companies that visited are goldman sachs, pick your trail, venture lts, greenbay, taj, audible, TCS, etc. the package varies from 3.4 LPA to 12 LPA. These are just peanut money btw. The college says there's 100% placements ( joke of the century) but in reality only 70% gets placed. I plan to do MBA from a different college.
