Remarks

Positve remarks about my college is that it a newly started college. The infrastructure is so good. and apart from that a really amazing massive hospital building is under construction behind the college. After its opening the college will reach heights without any doubt. Negative is also the same thing that since it is a new college we need to wait for everything even our now don't have its own canteen. There is no campus life.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

MBBS is a prestigious course and I'm proud that now I am one of a medical student that too India. The MBBS syllabus is vast that it is more than what is capable for a average Indian medical student especially the syllabus of our university kuhs.

Placement Experience

4

After the 4 and a half years of study the course curriculum includes a compulsory internship of 1 year with a fixed salary. After that period we can either continue as a MBBS doctor at any hospitals or medical colleges or even we can start pursuing pg and super speciality degrees.

College Events

3

We used celebrate almost all major events like independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanthi, Christmas, Onam, Holi. We used to do awareness programs on world AIDS Day, health day, cancer day etc. We also used to celebrate College day fresher's day, valentine's day, Union inauguration, magazine launch, arts fest, Interbatch Sports meet etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it is a government medical college the fees and other things are decided by government. So they are so feasible that everyone who wants to study MBBS can do that even the poor. So the fee structure is not so high.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not getting any scholarship because I belong to general category but my friends get scholarship who belongs to SC/ St community. The scholarship includes full college fees and hostel fees and exam fees and food charges. simply everything in that college comes under this scholarship and those who are getting this no need to pay anything at all.

Campus Life

3.5

The college is just started and those facilities like sports and extracurricular activities are still in development. But soon it will be well established. The college has labs separately for each departments. The college now has a volleyball court, badminton court, and cricket nets.

Hostel Facilities

4

I'm a hosteller. In my among college about 98% students are hostellers. Because the infrastructure of the hostel is so good and also the hostel fees is cheap. The mess food is also good. The hostels are newly built so the building looks so new and all necessary facilities are provided.

Alumni/Alumna

As I earlier said the college has just started only 6 batches are there in total. The super seniors or the pioneer batch students are now doing their internship which ends next year and then only they will leave the college. so till now no batch is gone out of the college.

Admission

I appeared for the NEET entrance exam and qualified it with good marks and got admission in this college according to my rank through All India Quota. In the first counseling I didn't get any college allotted but in the second allotment I got this college through the centralised allotment process.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties in the college are really so good. They are very friendly and all have The helping mentality. The staffs and faculties are so hard working for our Success. The clear our doubts at any time.

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Kerala University of Health Sciences - [KUHS], Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Reviewed on Nov 30, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
