Remarks

IITR is the first engg college of independence in India. It was established in 1847 as the name of Thomsan college of engineering. It has good infrastructure and very well maintained MGCL-Mahatma Gandhi Central Library.

Entrance Preview

I cleared my IIT JEE with rank of 3682 in 2014. I am in OBC and i wanted Electrical engg. I saw last year trend of opening and closing rank of all IITs. I got IIT Roorkee.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is good, in every sem there around 7 sub ,in first year all branches have same subjects so that they have chances for branch change if they performed very well. and faculty are also good.

Internships Opportunities

I have done internship in BHEL Haridwar. Its a govenment body so i didnot get stipend. My friends done internship compnay like tata steel,innoplexes,itc etc.they provide stipend between Rs 20,000 to 50,000.

Placement Experience

Placement opportunities are good. Around 90% of students get placed with an average package of 10-11 lakhs. Some students prepare for CAT, GRE, and IAS, etc.

College Events

THOMSO;- it's a cultural fest of IITR. Different cultural event occurs like vogue, dance street soccer, etc in which students from different colleges participates. Its 3 days event. COGNIZANCE;-It is a technical fest of IITR. Students from different colleges participate in the different technical event.

Fees and Financial Aid

MCM-merit cum scholarship :- criteria :-1. parents income less 4.5 lakhs.2.top 25% of applied student according to academic performance benefits:-1.tution fee-250002 Rs 1000 per month total rs-5000/semtotal -30000/sem.

Campus Life

I think we have each sport in our campus.like cricket,basketball,volley ball,lawn tennis,squase,tennis,football,and well maintained gym.hobbies club-electronic section,photography,gardening etc. Students club-carrom,snooker,billiard,pool,table tennis,foose ball,tv room,chess etc.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an IITR Alumni Association.Every year there is alumni meet. Alumni portal;-An interactive portal for IITR Alumni to keep in touch among themselves and the Institute. We are in beta testing so we are sending invitations to a limited number of alumni.

Exam Structure

One year is Divided into two-semester. spring semester and autumn semester. Each semester has two exams .1.MTE-Midterm exam, around 25-30% weightage of marks.2.ETE-End term examination of 40-50% weightage of marks.Rest percentage of marks from the quiz.

My college review

Placement Experience:

Stuiarw eligible for placement from 6th semester . There are so many companies visited such as wipro, Deloitte, hcl, tech Mahindra, TCS, and many more. Highest package of BTech is 1.24 cr and average package is 40000. Percentage of students get placed is 60%. My plan after degree is to get an good it job.

Placement Experience:

Room for placements can't be better than GEU. As our department which isn't much in demand and still over 80% of placements rate itself is a story worth telling. I am so glad that it is happening and this is the reason I feel so good studying here as I can't do more as placements care are taken by the university very well.

GEU is super amazing!

Placement Experience:

It's in the final year as once the final year begins, students are asked to pull their socks up and go limitless as nearly 100 or rather much more are there at the campus and interest in CSE students is the highest. Also, there's a large section of IT students who are placed from GEU every year and that too without much of an effort.

Versatile college with good RoI

Placement Experience:

One of the best thing I saw here is placement. If a student is willing to do job then this college is appropriate place from him or her.. Students are placed in IT , SALES , FINANCE, EDTECH , TRANSPORT, DRUGS , etc Students are eligible for jobs and placed from the beginning of pre final semester and can apply in each and every company as per required skills. Not big tech Faang companies visit the campus but a decent level IT companies and limited visit the campus. And conduct their interviews and exams process. Although interview rounds are tough and offcourse nail biting competition among the students. The highest package this year till now 34 LPA by an American MNC . Average package is 550000. Approximately 90 percent students got placed in different domains and fields. My plans are so clear. I will take the job first in IT companies and get some experience on ground level and will grow further.

GEU is a world class place to study!

Placement Experience:

Pringle, The Sleep Co, Lenskart, Luscious, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Google, Facebook and every tech company which potentially can come have come to our college for placements. On and average placements worth 6-40 LPA are common. Since some students miss out so on a whole the placements average stands a little below 10 LPA.

The feeling of being in IIT Roorkee

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. No i didnt get rejection from any college with my rank in jee main and advanced 2025 The admission process is straight like 1) JEE main 2) JEE Advanced 3) Josaa counselling Cutoff for top seven iits is higher than all other iits neans that you cant get into top seven just by qualifying jee advanced, you must have a good rank....Read More

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. IIT ROORKEE in a nut-shell

As we know IIT ROORKEE is one of the oldest engineering college in while asia and has a very good alumini connection and placement record so i chose it and it is also closer to my home. IIT Roorkee - The complete story

I had 4 main options in hand after JEE - BSc Physics in IISC Bangalore (I had cleared KVPY), Electrical engineering in IIT Indore, EPH in IIT Roorkee, and Computer Science in Nit Trichy. I did not choose IISC, as I wasnt sure whether I wanted my career to be in research. My coaching faculties advised me not to take an NIT when I was getting a top 7 IIT. It was a tough choice choosing between EE in IITI, and EPH in IITR. However, at the end, I choose Roorkee because of its legacy, better facilities, and a calmer environment.
