Remarks

Overall I would say, the experience here is satisfactory. Some negative points about the university would be that, some times in order to advertise themselves, they boast too much about them, sometimes which are not even true.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum has been played out such that the topics are covered from complete basics. The mode of teaching is usually from certain prescribed textbooks and ppts prepared by the faculty. But in order to get the in-depth knowledge of the subject, the student must to self study and go for few topics beyond the scope of syllabus. The Exam structure is what I feel is a little not planed properly. There are 2 mid semester exams in which we get 3 compulsory 2 mark questions and 2 out of 3 optional 15 marks question. The total marks is 36. Duration 1 hour. And for the final exam is 3 hours, 5, 2 marks questions and rest 10 marks question, 2 from all the 3 sections.

Placement Experience

4

The placement drive held in our college is very vast and a lot of companies from all over the country visit the campus. But unfortunately the scope of my course us limited and the companies directly Core to our field are very less. The students did get placed in companies like, indigo airlines, stipend around 5LPA. Coming to internships, yes we have a lot of opportunities for that as the faculty is supported in that area. We can approach the faculty with a internship plan for company and they are willing to grant the permission along with the letter of recommendation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure according to me is feasible as compared to other private universities. The total cost averages around 6 lakh for a 4 year program, which according to me is really good and affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships programs to students based upon their, competitive examinations scores such as, JEE mains, 12th board percentage, defence category and also through an optional entrance test called CUSAT. The college has partnered up with Punjab national bank which help students by providing student loans at affordable prices.

Campus Life

4

The college encourages it's student to take part in extracurricular activities as they do not charge anything extra for that. All the sports are available here. Labs are pretty good and are open to students who want to do their own projects.

Hostel Facilities

3

I am a hostler and I would like to say that the infrastructure, facilities, freedom is all very satisfactory over here. The hostel rooms are shared between 4 people, 5 in some hostels, and common washrooms are provided for groups of room on each floor. Apart from that tuck shops are provided within the hostel complex, which is great.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of the college is pretty good as we regularly have interaction sessions with the super seniors, and in these sessions the students are motivated and are given a goal for which they work towards to achieve.

Admission

I was browsing on the internet for top aerospace engineering colleges where i saw an advertisement my Chandigarh University. I registered myself to through their portal such as to secure my seat there. After that when I was ready to pick my college, I received a call from their office offering me the course with scholarship. I accepted it and got admission.

Faculty

3

The faculty is helpful and understanding towards the student as long as the student is self approaching. They themselves won't give time to the student to help out with their problems. They can be approached for extra curricular activities or competitions, but they will not help the students with attendance issues.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
