Remarks
The Turku Hansda College is affiliated to the University of Burdwan and recognised by the UGC. The college is good in terms of academics and in terms of affordability. But the placement and infrastructure have a lot of scope of improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very appropriate and in line with the university guidelines. During my batch, there was no semester system. We used to have annual exams. The class notes were sufficient enough to pass the exam. In some cases, we would get the notes from our seniors.
College Events
The college organised many field visits including awareness campaigns and environment friendly campaigns. The college also invites many guest faculty to deliver lectures on the subject matter in relevance to the course. I actively participated in many sports events at the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
One year fee for my B.Sc program was almost nil, wiz 1,030 Rs. Other universities make you spent more than that on their stationary. The college offered a high quality education and state of the art facilities at this nominal fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, our college offers scholarships for toppers and needy students based on the background of their parents and their academic performance. The University of Burdwan also offers scholarship options which can be availed by clearing minimum eligibility.
Campus Life
The campus life is pretty exciting in the college. The administration staff to the teaching faculty everyone is pretty friendly. The college gave me some of the best memories of my life. The campus is good, overall but infrastructure needs improvement. The college does give a feel of an under-funded government college. Some of the labs lack some necessary stuff.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is also there with the college. Both the boys and girls hostel are neat and clean and not to mention affordable. You will also get a better option of being a hostler.
Admission
Admission is on a merit basis. The common counselling process is used to allocate the seats in the UG programs. The college has a limited number of seats, that’s why the competition is stiff and students have to score high in their class 12 exams in order to clear the respective cut-off.
