Remarks
I took admission in the New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune campus. Pune is the education hub, so there is a sense of competitiveness in the air. But there was a different kind of air in the NLC campus. I am neither fully satisfied, nor fully dissatisfied with the college. It would have been better if there were more CLAT qualified students in my class.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure was good, but seriousness towards the discipline of law was absent. There was no competitiveness among the students. Many students who took admission on the management seats were there only to have a degree, not to learn
College Events
The college, often invites Judges from the higher court of India, Bombay HC as well as other HCs and Tribunals and reputed advocates. Hence, students also have experience of listening to luminaires of law and acknowledging their views
Fee Structure And Facilities
The one year course fee was somewhere around 80k. The cost of studies at the NLC is quite affordable as compared to other law colleges.
Campus Life
There was no decorum as such in the college. Students would clear the practical exam without even coming to the class. So apart from academics there was everything in the college campus.
Admission
The admission is on the basis of merit, which is prepared on the basis of class 12 marks and entrance test. The admission process is a lengthy business. I took the admission here, because I couldn’t get anywhere else.
Faculty
The faculty consisted of mostly lawyers, some were retd., some were still practicing law. The attendance wasn't compulsory. Some faculty members cared about the students career, while some were ignorant.
