Remarks

College management needs to be little more sensitive while handling students staying in hostels.

Entrance Preview

No exam was required to get admission in this particular college. I opted for this college as this was the only institution in India apart from one in Hyderabad which was offering combination of 3 subjects as desired by me: Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Genetics. Moreover the name of the college reflected royalty.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course was designed with lot of planning as the compleity of the courses increased.

Internships Opportunities

Internship was not part of the curriculum in Oxford College of Science college. But many projects were completed internally depending on individuals interest.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements were provided to the maximum number of students. Since life science domain do not have market value after the completion of graduation level,it was only after post graduation students were placed. Those who were interested pursuing career after graduation were placed in BPOs. Various biotech companies visited for campus placements offering good packages to the brighter students.

College Events

2.5

Students were also encouraged to visit other college and participate in the cultural and technical events. These events and fests use to open door to new opportunities as lot of social relations were developed among prominent speakers, visitors and the management.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was very affordable. No one had any issues with that. I have spend only 30000 Rupees during my graduation as college fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan was not required by anyone as the fee was very low. Scholarships were not provide at that point of time but were in the talks.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus was compact. Sports facility was not available. Gender ratio was 50:50 percent. Labs were well equipped with all the advanced equipment. Competitions were held during the fests and various other events conducted at college or intercollege level.

Hostel Facilities

1

Food was served on individuals own plates.Hostel fee for month was only 1000 INR including unlimited electricity and water facility. For food only 1000 INR were charged which included breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Every Weekend movies will be scr

Alumni/Alumna

Most of the seniors were doing PHDs hence influencing the career aspect for many of my batch mates. Seniors and super seniors were extremely helpful in providing notes and helping in each and every situation whenever required.

Exam Structure

Internal exams were conducted twice in 6 months and certain percentage of the marks obtained will be added to final examinations. Attendance and assignments were also a factor considered for internal exams. Finals were divided in 2 semesters and exams we

Indian Institute of Science - [IISc], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
