Does IIM Calcutta accept freshers?

Yes. There are no requirements for work experience at any of the IIMs and freshers are accepted.

The following are the general components used to calculate candidates' application scores:

• Class 10 score.
• Class 12 score.
• Graduation score.
• The CAT score.
• Working experience
• Certifications for Professionals (CA, CS, etc.).
• Master's, Ph.D., and other advanced degrees
• Gender and Academic Diversity

Particularly at IIM Calcutta, candidates' graduation grades do not count toward their scores. Thus, many candidates, especially engineers, who are not selected by other top B-schools due to poor graduation marks have a very good chance of converting interview calls from IIM Calcutta, provided they are able to justify the reason for poor graduation performance during the interview. IIM Calcutta has also recently begun to place a strong emphasis on gender diversity. As a result, many female applicants, particularly female engineers, may be contacted by IIM Calcutta (many of whom may not be contacted by other top IIMs), while male engineering applicants with the same percentile may not be contacted.
