At MNNIT, the multiplication factor is 10. So, to convert your CPI to a percentage, just multiply your CPI by 10.

For example: If CPI = 8.5, then percentage = 8.5 × 10 = 85.

MNNIT Allahabad gives you a CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) for the MCA program at the end of your course. It's calculated based on your performance in all semesters, which includes your mid-sem and end-sem exams. I found the curriculum to be quite relevant, especially for development and coding, so it’s important to focus on those subjects if you want a good CPI.

To calculate the CPI, let’s denote the SPI of each semester as S1, S2, S3, and so on, and the credits for each semester as C1, C2, C3, etc.

The formula for CPI is the cumulative SPI divided by the total number of credits.

So, CPI = {(S1×C1) + (S2×C2) + … + (S8×C8)} ÷ (C1 + C2 + C3 + … + C8)

You can plug in the values for SPI and the total credits for each semester to find the CPI.

For example:

  • If SPI for the 1st semester (S1) = 9 and credits (C1) = 25
  • For the 2nd semester, if S2 = 8 and C2 = 26

Then, the CPI for the 2nd semester would be: {(9×25) + (8×26)} ÷ (25 + 26) = 8.49

You can follow this method to calculate the CPI for every semester.

In the MCA program at MNNIT Allahabad, we receive a CPI rather than just an aggregate score. This system helps reflect our performance across all semesters more accurately. The curriculum is well-structured with a focus on practical skills, so it’s essential to do well in both mid-sem and end-sem exams to maintain a good CPI.
