I’m in my final year at IIM Udaipur, and I wanted to share my experience regarding salaries post-graduation. Most students land around 19.5 lakh as their in-hand salary, which is pretty decent given the 22 lakh fee structure for the MBA course. The highest package goes up to 36 lakh, so there’s potential if you’re willing to network and showcase your skills. Just keep in mind that internships can be hit or miss, with some offering as low as 10k.

There isn't a specific figure, but generally, the in-hand salary for graduates from MBA/PGDM at IIM Udaipur falls between 1,20,000 - 1,40,000 per month.

Now, why is there such a difference between CTC and in-hand salary?

The answer lies in the CTC breakup, which consists of several components. The main ones include:

  • Joining bonus (paid only once at the time of joining)
  • Provident fund (PF)
  • Medical coverage
  • Variable salary
  • Tax deductions

As a current student at IIM Udaipur, I can tell you that graduates from the MBA program usually take home an in-hand salary of approximately 19.5 lakh. The campus placements can be a mixed bag, but there are some good companies like Accenture Strategy and Pidilite that come for internships offering decent stipends. Just be prepared for the fact that the college is still building its brand, so it may take a bit more hustle to land those top offers.

It really depends on a few factors:

  • The role you are offered.
  • The CTC you receive.
  • Your tax bracket.
  • Your savings and investments.

Your question is a bit vague for a precise answer. If you're a newbie dazzled by the high CTC figures that various IITs and IIMs boast about each year, be cautious! Not everyone lands a very high CTC.

Here’s a general idea of monthly take-home salaries:

  • 14–19 lac CTC: around 90k–1.1 lac post-tax in hand.
  • 20–30 lac CTC: might get around 1.2–1.7 lac in hand post-tax.
  • 10–13 lac CTC: could see around 70k–90k in hand post-tax.

These are just rough figures. Additionally, you’ll need to cover rent and loan repayments from this take-home salary.

For example, some students have found themselves with just 14–15k per month during their early years after graduating from IIM Lucknow with a CTC of 16 lac per annum. They were managing education loan EMIs, house rent, car loans, and the EMI for a flat they purchased.

So, there’s a good chance you might end up at the borderline financially. But once you pay off your education loan and some other liabilities, things will get easier.

Hope you get my point! Best of luck!

It depends on several factors. This includes joining bonuses, variable pay components, and fixed components. Generally, joining bonuses can range from 0 to 4 lakh, and variable components can be between 10% to 30%.

  • If there’s no joining bonus and 90% is fixed, the in-hand salary could reach as high as 1.5 lakh per month (after taxes, provident fund, and other deductions).
  • If there’s a 4 lakh joining bonus with a 30% variable component, the in-hand salary could be around 1.2 lakh per month (after taxes, provident fund, and other deductions).
