I’d say to secure a seat in the MBA/PGDM at IIT Delhi, you should aim for a minimum of 90-95 percentile in CAT. The program is super competitive, and with a student-to-faculty ratio of 6:1, the learning experience is personal and enriching. Plus, the placement opportunities are amazing, with companies like BCG and Accenture coming for recruitment.

Hi! Thanks for the A2A.

First, almost all the IITs give significant preference to profiles. Here’s a breakdown:

  • IIT Bombay gives calls in the late 98. range, but with an impressive profile, you might expect calls from 97.9 to 98.50.
  • IIT Delhi places a strong emphasis on work experience. The cutoff may go as high as 96.8 and above.
  • IIT Kharagpur also values work experience heavily. The minimum percentile to apply is 90%ile, but a strong profile is essential to secure a call.
  • IIT Madras is profile-based and gives weightage to academics, starting from 95..
  • IIT Kanpur and IIT Roorkee can be accessed at around 92..

Good luck!!

IITs launched their MBA programs about 25 years ago. They've certainly reached a level comparable to new IIMs and baby IIMs. Apart from high packages, one of the advantages of IITs is their low fee structure, which is just under half of what IIM ABC charges.

Here are the percentile requirements for various IITs:

  • IIT Bombay - 98 percentile. Only for engineers or those with a 5-year degree in any other field.
  • IIT Delhi - 97 percentile
  • IIT Kharagpur - 95 percentile
  • IIT Roorkee - 94 percentile
  • IIT Kanpur - 92 percentile
  • IIT Dhanbad or ISM Dhanbad - 88 percentile
