The Gujarat National Law University or GNLU conducts entrance-based admissions. The university offers 18 courses at the UG, PG, PhD and PG diploma level. Some of these courses are- BA LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons), LLM, etc. The university also offers certificate courses in Comparative Taxation Law, Business Regulation on International Financial Service Centre, Introduction to Japanese law, etc. 

The consortium of National Law Universities conducts the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to shortlist candidates for their UG and PG law programmes. The admissions for 2024-25 are already closed. 

Here are the important dates for CLAT 2024 (for 2025-26 admissions):

Here is the admission process at GNLU:

  • Eligible candidates must fill out the CLAT application form.
  • Then, they must appear for the CLAT UG & PG exam, and obtain a valid score. 
  • Once the results are declared, they must participate in the counseling, which is conducted in the online mode.
  • During the counseling process, candidates must give preference to GNLU Gandhinagar.
  • Candidates are chosen for GNLU admissions based on their performance in the CLAT UG and PG counseling, the seat vacancy, document verification, and payment of fees.
  • Once assigned a seat, selected candidates must verify their documents, and pay the course fees to complete their GNLU Gandhinagar admission.
