The BITS campuses intake B.E. students through three methods. These are-

Through BITSAT- In this case, the admissions are based solely on the BITSAT score of a candidate. But the applicants must score >60% overall, and >75% in all three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Maths, in the 12th board exam.

Through SATs- International students get an admission through their SATs score. But in this case, the fee is higher, and it needs to be paid in USD.

Direct Admission- The class 12th topper (toppers if more than one student tops the exam) of each board is allowed direct admission into BITS, regardless of his/her BITSAT score. Such a student can pick any branch from across the three BITS campuses.

Thus, it is possible only for a board topper to get into BITS Hyderabad without giving BITSAT.
