IITRAM has been ranked at number 201 in all universities of India and has been ranked 2nd best in Ahmedabad for its Engineering courses by NIRF rankings. Both fall under the top 50 institutes for engineering according to the NIRF ranking. Jadavpur University is considered to be a tier A university whereas Shibpur University is not that popular.

• The average general cut-off for Mechanical Engineering at IIEST Shibpur is 11669 - 19625 rank in JEE mains.
• Jadavpur University for chemical engineering requires 338-416 rank in JEE mains.

• The placements offered at Jadavpur University are better for the reason that it has a better nationwide ranking and engages in campus recruitment programs. It had recently achieved a record of 84% placements in May 2020.

NIRF has ranked Nirma University at 131 for Engineering. Nirma University (NU) situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is a NAAC accredited ‘A’ grade private university.

Admission:

Nirma University provides a 4-year classroom program for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. It costs around 7.24 lakhs and the student intake for the program is 120.

• The required eligibility is 45% in the 12th board with the science stream from any recognized university.

• Admission for state quota is made through counseling conducted by ACPC based on the rank obtained in Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) and marks obtained in 10+2, i.e. 10+2 (PCM) marks- 60, GUJCET Percentile- 40%.

• Whereas admission for All India Category is made based on the 10+2 mark and rank obtained in JEE (Main). Admissions for all International candidates are determined based on their qualifying examination.

Curriculum: The B.Tech. program in Mechanical Engineering of Nirma University is NBA Accredited under the tier I category. The laboratories and computational facilities are well developed and faculty members are highly qualified and are alumni of premier institutions in the country.

The Department excels in the core areas of Mechanical such as Design Engineering, Thermal Engineering, CAD/CAM, Robotics and Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, Energy Systems, and Materials Engineering.
