The BBA program of Symbiosis is ranked 9th in India by India today’19. NMIMS has been ranked 92 overall by NIRF 2020. The total seats in the B.Com (Hons.) program at NMIMS is 180, and the BBA program in Symbiosis Pune is 240. The course duration for both programs is for 3 years.

NMIMS:

• The placements for B.Com are average in this college with the placement percentage being around 70-75%.

• The highest salary package offered is around 34 LPA, the average salary package is around 18 LPA, and the lowest is around 8 LPA.

• Companies like DE Shaw, JP Morgan, Deloitte, E& Y, and Bayern visit for recruitment.

Symbiosis, Pune: The placement cell in Symbiosis, Pune works hard in securing placements for its students.

• The placement percentage is approximately 96%.

• The highest international package is 17 LPA, and the highest domestic package is 8 LPA, and the average domestic package is 5 LPA.

• Companies like KPMG, Tommy Hilfiger, Credit Suisse, PWC, ICICI, and Amul India come for recruitment.

Infrastructure:

• Infrastructure wise NMIMS is above-average with all the necessary facilities for students. The classrooms are air-conditioned and spacious, libraries have updated books, and the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled.

• SCMS also offers all the necessary facilities. Wi-Fi is available on campus, and general stores are also present for students.

NIT Manipur is a central funded autonomous institute ranking 148th in the engineering category by NIRF 2019 ranking. The placement record is 80% for all branches of engineering every year. The department of thermal engineering from NIT Manipur develops students through scientific and intellectual knowledge. 

DIAT Pune is one of the best institutes for pursuing marine engineering and imparting technical education for 60 years. The institute ranks 57th in the NIRF engineering rankings. Moreover, nearly 80% of placements are offered by the institute. 

Admission process:-

NIT Manipur:-

• The minimum criteria requires a 60% marks in BTech.
• The candidates require a valid score in the GATE examination. 
• The cutoff required is 626 in the GATE examination.
• The total fees is INR 1.48 LPA.
• The seats alloted is 37.

DIAT Pune:-

• The minimum criteria required is a graduation degree with 50% marks. 
• The seats allocated for this course is 75.
• The total fees required is INR 1.45 LPA.

Placements:

There are lots of opportunities for the students once they graduate from these colleges. The institute has recently witnessed 50 students getting placed in top MNCs with an average package of INR 6 LPA. 

The top recruiters are DRDO, HCL, Tata Power, L&T, Amdocs, Mphasis, etc.

Faculty:

NIT Manipur consists of 72 faculties out of which 40 are holding the PhD degree in their respective fields. 

The faculty members of DIAT Pune are very cordial and helpful and maintain a healthy relationship with the students. 

Facilities:

• The Library of NIT Manipur consists of over 24000 books and 81 journals.
• There are two separate hostels for girls and boys each with a capacity of 150.
• The hostels of DIAT Pune consists of an accommodation of 240 students in their hostel.

Thermal and marine engineering are two different fields of engineering. Both of these branches have different career scopes in the future. Therefore, it is advisable to check and then decide which stream to pursue from which institute.

XLRI offers a 15 month, full-time residential program. It is one of XLRI'S flagship programs accredited by the AMBA. It includes a 3 months field training as well. Each batch has only 101 students selected on merit.

SP Jain's PGDM program is a 2-year program accredited by AMBA and NBA as well. This program allows flexibility in changing the major as well.

SP Jain 

• PGDM program has access to international visiting faculty members and students from Dauphine University (France), NUS (Singapore), Ledge Business School France, amongst others. Michigan State University and Cornell University are its B-School partners.
• The institute has an amphitheater, residential facilities, and a library.

GL Bajaj

• PGPM program has 50+ faculty members with more than 40 being well-known management gurus and 25+ faculty visiting from Stanford, Yale and Kellogg schools. The advisory council is headed by Ratan Tata.
• The institute has a green campus and the first one in South Asia to be given a LEED Platinum Rating. There are sports facilities available for basketball, football, etc; a library and hostels are present on-campus as well.

XLRI 

• PGDM has 900 contact hours, designed for working executives' needs in mind. 
• There are 53 electives available to choose from.
• XLRI also has a historic Sir Jehangir Ghandy library built-in 1947; a computer centre; AC lecture halls; Amphitheatre; and 4 residence halls.

XLRI 

• The highest salary offered to XLRI students was 30 LPA. 
• Students were recruited for the roles of Associate Vice President, Product Manager, etc, by Cognizant, Axis Bank, Genpact, etc.

GL PGPM

• Candidates were offered 13.6 LPA as the average pay and 28.6 LPA as the highest domestic pay. 
• This year saw 15 new recruiters including ADP, Dell, Magic Bricks, and Zee Entertainment.

SP Jain

• The institute's number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) and pre-placement interviews (PPIs) has been more than 40% over the years because of its Autumn internships. 
• A rise of 15% in average CTC was also witnessed. 
• A total of 80% of its batch received offers over 20 LPA.

Students can decide on a program based on the convenience of location and placements provided.

It depends on where you want to live and study. If you are comfortable staying in Pondicherry and are interested in ECE, go with PEC, which is one of India's oldest institutes.

On the other hand, SASTRA University is a more recent private prestigious university and it has great infrastructure facilities and placement record. BioTech in Sastra has IT placements with a lot of companies whereas ECE in PEC has good placement but is not that great.

You can opt for PEC as its fee is lower than SASTRA. However, go for it only if you are getting a seat in ECE. If not, SASTRA can be considered as a final option.

One of my friends studied at DTU. To him, it is at par with old IITs and BITS. Let us see why he preferred DTU over any other IIITs or IITs.

• DTU has a 100% placement record. Almost all the big companies like Adobe, Google, Microsoft visit their campus for placement
• The salary package sometimes reaches as high as 1.25 crores.
• Recently there has been a change in the system of electives as you can study any subject of any branch. You can also choose online courses which are not present in most of the IITs.
• You can do everything there if you wanna write a research paper and have it published. Then, you can opt for writing a research paper instead of studying the subject.

You could also go for the 3 years mini-project instead of Opting any other subjects. You would not get these types of opportunities in the 7 IITs.
