Which is better: CS from KIIT or mechanical from Thapar University?
Having known some people studying in both these institutions, I can say that KIIT is promising and is getting better every year. Thapar is a well-known and much older institute. You can choose either by preferring the college or the branch.
- If you are interested in studying mechanical engineering then go to Thapar. It has good placements for Mechanical. The faculty department is also decent.
- If you are more inclined towards coding go for CSE from KIIT. It is a more practical-oriented subject.
- If the interests do not lie in either and you just want a B.Tech degree and want to pursue higher studies or MBA, then go for CSE as that is the easiest among all the others.
- It will be more practical-based learning, more industry-oriented and it has the best scope after graduation.

It is unfair to compare IIIT Allahabad with NIT Hamirpur. If you take a look at the closing cutoff for IIIT Allahabad and NIT Hamirpur, the difference will be clear.
If you have the option to choose IIIT Allahabad, go for it without giving it a second thought. Now if you clear the cutoff for IT at IIIT A, you will be eligible for ECE as well.

I have many friends at IIIT Allahabad and based on what I heard from them I will suggest you choose the institute.
What should I choose between CSE (5 years) at IIT Bhubaneswar or mechanical (4 years) at IIT Madras or CSE Dhanbad(4years)?
The general preference order is
- College wise - IIT Madras > IIT Bhubaneswar > IIT Dhanbad
- Branch wise - CSE > Mechanical
It is best to make a decision based on your individual preferences.

What branch should I take, chemical in IET LKO or information technology in BIET Jhansi?
Decide a branch that you prefer, after that go through the colleges of that particular branch. Pay attention to the college’s overall performance, placements, faculties, location, etc. as they are the major factors.
- If you are inclined towards the IT sector and love coding then you should definitely choose IT. It will help you gain multiple opportunities in your career in the private sector.
- If you are interested in building your career in the public sector, then the Chemical branch at IET Lucknow will be a better option.
- You will get enough time for the preparation for exams like GATE or even PSU.

IIITM Gwalior is better for an MTech ISM. It has an active coding culture. Being an IT-oriented institute, it offers better technological exposure. It has a good placement record. According to the highlights of IIITM Gwalior placements 2022, students received an average CTC of INR 16.85 LPA. The highest CTC offered was INR 59.27 LPA.
IIITM G is lenient regarding attendance and academic schedule. So, it’s easier to follow interests outside the course-work.
Which among these is better for an MBA, Nirma, KJ Somaiya, or SIIB in Pune?
For an MBA, KJ Somaiya is the best option among these. It is well recognized in the industry. It also has a locational advantage. As it’s located in Mumbai, it’s easier to get placements and internship opportunities. KJ Somaiya placements 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 10.95 LPA. The placement rate is around 98%.
Which one is better for a BA in Economics, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, DCAC or Symbiosis School of Economics?
Shaheed Bhagat Singh and DCAC offer a BA in Economics. Whereas, Symbiosis School of Economics offers a BSc (Hons.) in Economics. SBSC is ranked 151 out of 200 top colleges in India by NIRF. DCAC is ranked 31 out of 120 in Arts by India Today. NIRF has ranked SSE in the 20th position in India.

Which should I choose, CUSAT-SOE for mechanical engineering or NIT Jamshedpur for mechanical engineering?
You should choose NIT Jamshedpur for Mechanical Engineering. It has an impeccable Mechanical faculty. The professors have years of experience in the field. The placements are more competitive at NITs. NIT Jamshedpur placement highlights for 2021 show around 96% of Mechanical students got placed with an average CTC of INR 7.3 LPA. Vedanta Ltd, Tata Steel, Royal Enfield, etc. are some of the major recruiters for the branch.
Which college would you go for if interested in MBA in HRM among IMI Delhi, SIBM Bangalore, TAPMI, KJ Somaiya?
KJ Somaiya is the better option among these colleges. It is a well-established college that provides state-of-the-art facilities to its students, one can observe continuous improvement in their personality by studying at KJ Somaiya, and the institute encourages research. The placements are decent here almost all the students are placed with the highest package of 22.5 lac and the average is 12.28 lac.
Should I join MANIT (NIT Bhopal) Chemical Engineering while I get CSE at IIIT Sri city? I've no particular inclination towards any branch.
Why do you want to opt for engineering? Is it because you enjoy Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics? If that’s the reason, then there are two possibilities for you.
Joining IIIT Sri City for CSE-
- You can sharpen your coding skills and work better on Computer Science learning more about ethical hacking, cybersecurity, etc. This is how CSE would prove to be fruitful to you.
- But if we perceive the other side of the situation, if you do not hold any interest here, you might find it hard to cope with and eventually lose interest. Since IIIT Sri City is a new college, it will not be able to impart the essential communication/soft skills to you.
Joining Chemical Engineering at MANIT Bhopal-
- Apart from developing a great interest in Chemical Engineering, you have the opportunities to either go for higher education via GRE or ensure placement via GATE.
- But again, comparing the other side of the situation, if Chemical Engineering does not spark your interest, you can go for other domains like Management. MANIT offers all the adequate communication/soft skills that would be essential for that.
If you have no particular inclination, then choosing CSE may be better. As it has two domains, i.e. coding and non-coding. Plus, the internet is full of great ebooks and tutorials to teach you.
