What was your CGPA at IIM Ahmedabad and how did you achieve it?

AD
Anirban Dasgupta Posted On : May 25th, 2022
PGDM Marketing, Birla Institute of Management Technology

Few of my friends attended IIM Ahmedabad. One of them scored 3.56 in his first year. Here are some of the common traits that you will observe in most people who score good CGPA.

  • Attend classes regularly and internalize. The case-based pedagogy of IIM Ahmedabad is unique. You will learn a lot from the professors as well as your peers.
  • Prepare for class. Read the case study that will be discussed in class.
  • Select a good study group.
  • Some examinations are different. Just subjective learning isn’t enough in these cases, you will have to complement it with objective aptitude.

Doing these will help you score better.

I am now in MAMC Delhi. Should I drop this year to get into AIIMS Delhi? I am sure to get selected next year.

Shwetha S Posted On : April 1st, 2024

AIIMS Delhi and MAMC Delhi are both the most reputed colleges in terms of academics and placements. AIIMS Delhi offers limited 125 seats annually which makes it really competitive to get admission. Although it is equally competitive to get into MAMC, the college offers a total of 250 seats annually for the MBBS program.

Both institutions have well-experienced faculty, infrastructure and strong curriculum. Admission at AIIMS Delhi is not guaranteed unless one goes through counselling and secures the seat as AIIMS doesn’t offer management seats.

MBBS curriculum is the same in both colleges. Hence, the college tag doesn’t matter however, everything is dependent on your skills, knowledge and learning during your internship posting where you utilize all your theoretical knowledge into practice.

It is advisable for you to continue your education at MAMC without dropping out and wasting one year. Make the most of the resources available and you can always continue your PG studies at AIIMS Delhi by clearing INI CET. Also, AIIMS Delhi conducts INI CET twice a year i.e. January Session and July Session which provides you with an opportunity to appear at your desired time.

MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College

MAMC is a good option and well-recognized in the medical fraternity. You won’t regret joining the institute. Also, in medical field, your institute name won’t matter much. If you want to pursue higher studies after graduation, you need to follow the same steps, irrespective of whether you are graduating from AIIMS or MAMC.

After joining MAMC, you also have the option to prepare for AIIMS next year. It will be difficult, but doable.

How to get scholarships on havard university?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 13th, 2023

Harvard University is well-known for providing financial aid to talented students in the form of scholarships. In fact, it runs its own committee to manage and disburse general scholarships as a type of financial aid to students in need. However, it does not offer any merit-based scholarships and no full-ride scholarships. But the university makes sure to take care of 100% of students’ financial needs. You will be surprised to know that almost half of the batch here avails of need-based scholarships or financial aid every year.

Here is a comprehensive table mentioning the list of scholarships offered to Harvard University students and the eligibility criteria for each of them:

Scholarship Name

Eligibility

Boustany MBA Harvard scholarship

  • Great academic track record
  • Admitted to the MBA program at Harvard University
  • Interview round

Horace W. Goldsmith Fellowship

  • Bachelor’s degree in hand
  • 109+ TOEFL score
  • 7.5+ IELTS score
  • 75+ PTE score
  • GMAT/ GRE scores
  • Work experience in a full-time leadership role in a non-profit organization
  • Interview round

The Robert S Kaplan Life Sciences Fellowship

  • Bachelor’s degree in hand
  • 109+ TOEFL score
  • 7.5+ IELTS score
  • 75+ PTE score
  • GMAT/ GRE scores
  • Amazing track record in the field of Life Sciences
  • Interview round

Need-Based Fellowships

  • Bachelor’s degree in hand
  • 109+ TOEFL score
  • 7.5+ IELTS score
  • 75+ PTE score\GMAT/ GRE scores
  • Satisfactory work experience
  • A history of excellent performance in academics
  • Interview round

Now the question arises, how to get these scholarships. Students can opt for scholarships offered both by external as well as in-house sources. The university filters students for scholarships by understanding the background and economic position of the students. Only then does it grant financial aid, to let them complete their UG and PG education easily.

How good is KJ Somaiya (SIMSR) for doing an MBA in India?

AS
Aditya Shah Posted On : April 25th, 2022
PGDM from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (2020)

As a B-School, KJ Somaiya has certain factors which are advantageous, such as location, ROI, alumni base. Since Mumbai is the corporate hub of India, the college easily attracts many companies. SIMSR has a huge alumni base with people working at imminent positions in the corporate world.

However, it doesn’t come under the top B-Schools in India. SIMSR brand doesn’t have much recognition. Although it attracts many companies, the placement average isn’t at the same level as top B-Schools. KJ Somaiya placements 2022 had an average CTC of INR 10.95 LPA.

Is NMIMSs average salary really above INR 16 LPA?

SD
Shreya Das Posted On : January 17th, 2022
PGDM Marketing, SVKM'S NMIMS, Navi Mumbai Campus (2021)

According to the student’s reviews online, The average CTC (domestic) is INR 18.33 LPA. All the B-Schools of the country publish their placement reports based on CTC or cost to company numbers.

There is a huge difference between CTC and in-hand salary. So if your question was related to 16 lakhs CTC then it could be a possibility but if your question was related to 16 lakhs in hand salary then it might vary.

The average salary package may also vary depending on the company and your overall academic performance. Some companies offer students a 18-20 LPA salary package but they also have better grades. Whereas some Mass recruiting companies like TCS often give lots of job offers but with a lesser salary package.
