Although Christ University has a huge reputation nation-wide, it is mainly known for its management and undergraduate programs.
I decided to pursue my B.Tech from Christ, but I found out that this institution is not the best option in Bangalore for engineering studies. After a lot of research and consultation with my friends, I have curated a list of good engineering colleges in Bangalore which you can consider for your B.Tech.
Here is the list-
Christ is well known in the industry, but it does not have any standing in the job market for engineering courses. It offers average level B.Tech courses. Thus, I would recommend you consider other good engineering colleges in Bangalore for a B.Tech instead of opting for Christ.
Do you think getting admission to the most coveted branch will also give access to the most coveted housing facilities? Well, you are wrong, inside IIT your rank has no value. You will be treated like any other student with equal amenities at your disposal.
At IIT Delhi, every student is allotted a room randomly without any discrimination. First-year students usually get 2-seater or 3-seater rooms depending on the hostel they are assigned to.
The single rooms you were asking for are usually allotted in the last year but some lucky students get a single room from the 3rd year in a new hostel like Girnar or Udaigiri. But regardless, your hostel will become your new home. Irrespective of the kind of rooms you are allotted, you get adapted to them and make splendid memories and new friends.
Aligarh Muslim University offers decent engineering courses. The course fee is nominal. The total course fees for B.Tech is around INR 10.63 lakhs. AMU engineering placements are decent. Students with good academic records get desired salary packages. Some of the major recruiters for the institute are Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, etc.
Media reports indicate that the placements for Panjab University UIET (BTech and MTech) Chandigarh in 2023 saw the highest and average package offered at INR 45 LPA and INR 8.89 LPA, respectively. Whether a particular degree is worth the money you spend depends on a number of factors like your financial background and your future prospects. One of my relatives completed his BTech in CSE in 2012 and got a job that helped him pay back the loan within 2 years. However, this may not be the case for everyone. That being said, consider the following scenarios
Nevertheless, if you are adamant about joining anyways, go for CS or IT which will provide better placement opportunities than other branches.
It's highly illogical to compare a Tier-1 engineering college like BITS to a Tier-2 university like Manipal Institute of Technology.
One cannot compare universities like Manipal, VIT, SRM, Jaypee, Amity, etc. to IIT, NIT, and BITS. These colleges have no brand value of their own and most of the people coming here are those who failed to qualify for competitive exams like JEE/BITSAT/AIEEE/etc. Moreover, the exposure and opportunities offered at BITS are unmatched. It's probably the only private engineering college that enjoys excellent global recognition too.
Irrespective of the branch you go for, the BITS Pilani degree has similar value everywhere. The BITS alumni network is great with some of them being co-founders of Redbus, Hotmail, etc.
Here is a brief comparison of these institutes

Here is a rough estimate of the total expenditure for a BTech course at MIT Karnataka.
The above estimate does take into account the money you spend partying or going on trips. Also, it's important to note that the above estimate is purely based on my speculations and may vary from person to person.
