IEM Kolkata is an average college. The academics and facilities offered aren’t good for IT. Alumni of the institute who are well-established in the IT sector received the opportunities based on their talent and expertise. If you have other better options, you should choose them over IEM.
As per the recent placement highlights, IEM Kolkata average CTC was INR 5-6 LPA. While the highest CTC offered to the student of this branch was INR 42 LPA.

- It’s easy to prepare for some other exams also apart from Engineering like IAS

- Being in Delhi makes it possible to go for road trips to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lansdown, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Agra, etc.
- The Delhi Metro makes commuting quiet easy
- There are many places to explore and hang out with your friends in the vicinity of the campus.
Cons
- CS department of IIT Bombay is way better than IIT Delhi offering a plethora of diverse courses.
- The campus of IIT Bombay has more natural landscape and greenery in comparison to IIT Delhi. This enhances the climate and overall ambiance inside the campus
- Unlike IIT Delhi, the hostel facilities are much better at IIT Bombay while Delhi hostels are overly crowded.
- Delhi faces extreme climatic conditions whereas the weather of IIT Bombay somehow remains the same throughout the year.

How is chandigarh university for btech cse?
I am here to give you a very honest opinion based on my brother's experience at Chandigarh University. The university does everything but imparts good quality education and is more like a money-making machine. The points below will clarify my point further
- The faculty pool comprises ignorant professors who are just Master graduates from CU itself. All their lectures are copy paste material and the classes are extremely monotonous with no dynamic or practical approach at all. These professors have no area of expertise and teach different subjects in different semesters
- There are illogical restrictions and very tight schedules. You don’t get to roam even after classes are over and if you don’t reach the block by 9 30 am, you will find it closed.
- The syllabus is exhaustive and chaotic comprising so many irrelevant theoretical subjects making students rote learners with minimal understanding of concepts
- No additional skills like coding, data analysis, and programming are taught. Everything is taught with a theoretical approach with no hands on experience.
- A huge number of assignments and projects are assigned meant to be completed within a week leaving no time for additional activities or studies.
- There are attendance policies requiring you to maintain 75% attendance with strict reprimands like debarring
- The college is not exactly located in Chandigarh but in the outskirts in a village area with no transport facilities.
- The hostel and mess facilities are appalling
No doubt, the college has a lot of companies coming for placements but the scenario for that isn’t very different. So, I will recommend you to go for any other engineering college after proper research.

BITS Pilani CSE:
- industry-focused academic freedom. zero attendance, you manage your own time
- Practice School internship at Google, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs etc. — massive differentiator for industry careers
- admission via BITSAT only (not JEE)
- placements: avg ~Rs.25-30 LPA. similar range to IIIT-H but more industry-facing
- legendary campus culture, Oasis/Apogee fests, strong alumni network
which is better? if you want research, PhD abroad, or academic career — IIIT Hyderabad is the better choice. if you want industry, startup exposure, or flexibility — BITS Pilani's practical approach is superior. both are genuinely elite for CS in India.
Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?
The choice depends on what matters the most to you.
If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice.
I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.
How is the B.Tech CSE course at Bennett University?
Bennett University is known for its engineering courses. The B.Tech CSE program available at Bennett University spans 4 years duration with a total of 160 credits. Additionally, there are 14 minor specialisations available under B.Tech CSE so that students can choose their preferred course.
