How does DTU and NSIT compare with IITs?
DTU and NSUT aren’t even close to the top IITs at least now. Earlier, DTU was quite comparable to IIT Roorkee but ever since it has been converted to a university, it has lost its charm. However, DTU and NSUT are still among the top 10 colleges in India and are better than some IITs. Here are a few things that make these two colleges inferior to IITs
- The reservation policy for Delhi people is over 85% which hampers the peer group quality and diversity to a large extent.
- The faculty pool comprises below-average professors who have no interest in teaching or encouraging research work.
- Lastly, the administration of the college is pathetic.
So here is what I would recommend you
- For CS/IT : OLD IITs>IIITH>NSUT Delhi>DTU>Top 3 NITs>New IITs
- For other branches: Old IITs>DTU>NSUT Delhi>Top 3 NITs>New IITs
If you want to pursue research, then consider joining IIITs or IITs instead of NSUT Delhi or DTU.
Which is the best college under the Techno India Group?
Techno India Saltlake is the main campus of Techno India Group and is the best college in the group. It is especially good for circuital branches such as IT, and CSE. The institute has an excellent faculty base. However, for engineering, you can’t entirely depend on your professors for studies.
Techno India Saltlake placements are great. Each year around 80-90% of students get placements. Amazon, TCS, and Wipro are among the major recruiter for the institute.

You can stick to FMS Delhi. It is in the same league as IIM A, B, and C.

Before you narrow down your decision, you should consider which sector you want to join, i.e. consulting/core finance/marketing, etc. Go through the placement highlights of both these institutes and see which offers better placement in the sector you are interested in.

The overall rankings of FMS Delhi and IIM A/C are comparable (IIM A & C rank better than FMS in terms of placements and college life though).

Should I go for civil engineering or metallurgy and material science engineering in NIT Trichy?
I would suggest you go for metallurgy if you plan to do a job right after completing your degree. Metallurgy has more job opportunities to offer. With Metallurgy, you can easily learn coding and go for tech companies. NIT Trichy has a great coding culture, so picking up coding skills will not be difficult.
If you plan to prepare for civil services or any other government job, I would suggest you go for civil engineering.
When compared to metallurgy, there are fewer job opportunities in the civil department.
If you plan on doing an MBA after having done your engineering, you can opt for either of them because then it does not matter anyway.
Is Allahabad University best for a BA LLB?

Which is better between IIT Patna and Jadavpur University for an equivalent branch?
I have seen many students prefer JU to new IITs because of the experience and legacy it holds in contrast to recently established IITs. None of these students regret their decision of choosing JU over IIT.
JU has the upper hand in terms of both placements and the quality of research work here. In fact, top NITs, BITS, JU, DTU, NSIT, IIITs, and such institutes are all better options than most of the newer IITs. These institutes have good credibility owing to their strong alumni network thus providing better opportunities. Those who prefer to stay on the safe side give more preference to these institutes than newer IITs.
The new IITs are expected to reach heights in the future and only then will you be able to benefit from their IIT tag. As of now, they lack credibility and opportunities.
Ultimately, it’s your call to make because you can even avail the best opportunities through minimal resources.
