What is the best option among: TAPMI, IFMR, Great Lakes Gurgaon 1 year PGPM?

ND
Nimitya Dutt Posted On : March 20th, 2023
Worked at the Great Lakes Institute of Management (India)

Remember that the quality of education should be consistent across all institutions. Keep in mind that the MBA program emphasizes teamwork and a unique approach to learning that may differ from traditional education.

  • Consider the financial aspect of pursuing an MBA, as the return on investment (ROI) is crucial. If you plan to take out a loan to finance your education, keep in mind that a significant portion of your salary may go toward paying off your debt. Additionally, the average salary package may include variable pay, meaning you may receive less money than expected.
  • Think about the turnaround time for completing your degree. Some institutions, such as GLIM, offer a one-year PGPM course, which means you can start earning and paying bills sooner than those who opt for a longer program. This can also give you a head start in terms of gaining work experience and building your bank balance.
  • Consider the brand value of the institution you choose to attend. While brand value is important, particularly when seeking employment, it may not hold as much weight in the long term. Ultimately, your achievements and experience will be more important than where you earned your degree.

In the end, it's up to you to determine the best approach for your career. Keep in mind that the right balance of ROI, turnaround time, and brand value will depend on your personal circumstances. For example, if you have the financial means, ROI may not be a priority, while if you're just starting out, turnaround time may be more important than brand value.

What is the college timing in NIT Trichy?

BS
Bharti Shah Posted On : September 1st, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

The classes at NIT Trichy start at 8:30 AM and lasts till 5:10 PM. There will be classes in two phases. The timing for morning classes is from 8:30 AM to 12:10 PM and for afternoon classes it is 1:30 PM to 5:10 PM.

On some days, afternoon classes will be canceled and only the morning classes will be conducted. The number of cancelled classes depends from department to department. The CSE department has a lot of cancelled classes and you would be free by 3:30 PM. But this is not the case with EEE & ECE departments as here all the classes are conducted regularly.

If you are residing in these hostels Garnet, Agate, Coral, Diamond then you can wake up before 5-10 mins of classes as it is located nearby to the lecture halls and you can easily reach on time. But if you are residing in Amber or Opal hostels, you will have to wake up at least 30 minutes earlier to attend the classes on time as the rooms are very far from the lecture halls.

The timing for hostels depends upon the class. For 1st year boys, the entry timing is till 9:30 PM and for others, there are no such fixed timings and you can come at any time. But for girls, the timing is only till 9 PM and there is no exception in timings for anyone.

Which is best, an M.Tech from IIT or PGDIE from NITIE? What is the career growth after industrial management comparing to an M.Tech from a top IIT?

SM
Sambhav Malawat Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2020)

If you are more inclined towards Mathematics and Research, then IIT will be a good option for you. You can end up working as a business analyst for an MNC.

In the PGDIE course of NITIE, you will come across management sectors rather than technical knowledge. You will also get acquainted with subjects such as Operations and Supply chain.

  • NITIE would be a fit for you if you want to pursue management in the future. It will help you in getting placed in the best FMCGs and a number of the most sought-after companies in India
  • Management skills come into play if you want to pursue M.Tech from an IIT. The jobs that you will get after graduating from an IIT will be related to analytics and consulting. The salary from the core jobs is not much.

The connection NITIE has with industries is far better than the IITs in the country and the fact that it is placed in Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, you will get lucrative opportunities to engage in work with the industries for weekend projects.

What is BIMM Pune like in terms of placements?

MD
Mayank Dua Posted On : June 16th, 2021
MBA from Sri Balaji Society, Pune (2019)

My sister was a student at SBS-BIMHRD and her experience was quite surprising for her as well as our family. Before diving into the answer, let us first look at some facts.

  • The institute conducts a 2 months induction period in which you will have to report at 8 am and it continues till 9 pm.
  • In this period, there were more than 160 guest lectures conducted. This made her very disciplined.
  • The vision and motto of discipline, dedication, determination of the institution are not just for the name's sake, they actually preach and practice it.
  • The institution molds you for the corporate culture through surprise tests, academic PowerPoint presentations, and other activities.
  • There are many cultural events such as Drishti, Aiyaswami, etc which add value to your learning.
  • Time management is the biggest learning from the institution. The rigorous sessions which make you work hard make you more self-confident and industry-ready.

Now, let us come back to your question. Placements at BIMM, Pune are centralized and all the four institutions of the SBUP participate in it. The placements are decent.

Here is the highlight of BIMM placement 2020

Categories

BIMM Pune

Average Package

INR 5.4 LPA

Number of Students Placed

311

Percentage of Students Placed

85%

Top Recruiters

3SC Supply Chain Solution Pvt. Ltd and ADP India Pvt. Ltd

People may resist joining the institution because of its 365 days college policy but it is the USP of the college.

Is the NMIMS Bsc Finance degree worth the money?

PN
Priyam Naskar Posted On : May 25th, 2021
B.Sc Finance at SVKM's NMIMS (2018)

One of my friends pursued his B.Sc in Finance from NMIMS. Based on his input, I might be able to help you with your question.

  • All the demands and requirements of any corporation are assimilated into the curriculum.
  • The syllabus includes major subjects like Business Analytics (SAS Software), Alternative Investment Markets, Operation Research, Debt Markets, Financial Reporting Standards, or even Corporate Finance.
  • Theseare exclusive to NMIMS B.Sc. It can not be seen or found in any other syllabus within India.
  • Mumbai being the financial capital of the country provides us with better industrial exposure.

If you have any misconception about having fun while you are here, drop it already. As at NMIMS you probably would not have time to do so. Just so you are fit for corporate culture, they train you in such a way that you don't face any problem in the future.

Since you have an inclination towards Finance, you would realize that everything you had endured was worth it in the end. And if the situation is the opposite, you'd be left far, far behind in the Finance race pulverizing yourself under constant pressure.
