How is Mtech in IIT Delhi compared to Mtech in IISC Banglore in Computer Science?
One of my friends had both options, MTech in IIT Delhi and MTech in IISc Bangalore, however, despite his hailing from Delhi, he chose IISc Bangalore over IIT Delhi. Some strong reasons which influenced his decision were
- The Institute has excellent research facilities and approaches second to no other engineering Institute in India.
- IISc Bangalore does not have a BTech program and thus the entire focus of the faculty resources, education, and resources are invested in the Master's program unlike IIT Delhi, where BTech is given more importance.
- IIT Delhi has a higher intake of UG students than PG students and they are given more preferences and attention than UG students.
- Being situated in Bangalore, the IT hub of India IISC has close ties with IT companies visiting frequently for some or other events or technical competitions
- Most GATE toppers prefer IISc or IIT Bombay over IIT Delhi and so do the companies offering placements.
- The overall ambiance of campus life is more tranquil in IISc Bangalore than in IIT Delhi which is an overly populated and polluted city.
- IISc is being recognized by foreign universities and one can pursue their Ph.D. with a degree from IISc.
All these pointers strongly inclined my friend towards IISc and he eventually completed his MTech from there.
What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at IIT Dhanbad?
As an alumnus, I have a fair share of experiences and takeaways from my college. Here are some tips for freshers starting their journey at IIT Dhanbad:
- You should be proud of having secured admission into one of the top engineering colleges in India. But don’t stop working hard, and chasing even bigger dreams.
- Unlike what some seniors will tell you, GPA matters a lot. During placements or for higher studies, GPA plays an important role. Maintain at least 8-8.5 GPA throughout.
- You’ll meet some of the finest professors over there. However, some professors will hugely disappoint you. Learn to make peace with the fact that all your teachers won’t be up to your expectations.
- Talk to your seniors and juniors. You’ll learn a lot through networking with people.
- Join college clubs and societies. They will help shape your personality.
- Apart from technical skills, work on your soft skills as well. They’ll be very important during the pre-final and final years. Make use of the free time during your first year to work on your soft skills. If you aren’t a good speaker, join LITC/Toastmasters.
- Travel a lot during college years.
These are some tips from my personal experience. Other than that, study well and make the most of your time at IIT Dhanbad.
How is ICFAI Hyderabad IBS?
The reputation of ICFAI has declined over the years. Previously, it was known for its MBA program, but its reputation was tarnished by affiliation issues for its B.Tech course. Some B.Tech campuses in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, etc. had to be shut down due to a student strike that lasted for nearly a semester, and the non-affiliated B.Tech program run in these campuses. This negative publicity also negatively impacted its MBA program.
It is unclear to what extent the college has recovered since then. It is recommended that you consider colleges with a better track record. With a 98 percentile score, you may also be able to score well in other exams. Additionally, the fees charged by ICFAI, along with the investment of two years in the degree, make it a significant investment. So, it is advised that you consider other options.
How is the master’s program in Data Science and Machine Learning offered by Great Learning in collaboration with PES University, Bangalore?
PES University in collaboration with Great Learning offers M. Tech in Data Science and Machine Learning on campus as a weekend classroom course. It is a 21-month course with placements and a degree from PES University itself. Details regarding curriculum, placements, as well as fee structure and eligibility, have been provided below.

One of my friends studied at NALSAR. According to him, it is one of the most enormous colleges in the field of Law.
The institute is doing really amazing in terms of imparting management education. You will be given enough practical exposure. My friend did 2 live projects and experienced a rigorous academic curriculum.
The median salary reaches up to 8-10 LPA. Companies like Trident and Franklin, Templeton, S&P Global, Playgo, etc. are notable recruiters.

How much should one score in their GATE examination, to get a seat in IIT Madras?

Mithibai College is definitely the better choice for a BMS. The college offers an excellent faculty base for BMS. The environment on campus is ideal for academics. Mithibai College fees for BMS is also quite affordable. The 3-year long course will cost you around INR 84,000 approximately. All these factors make this college a better choice for pursuing a BMS degree.
Which is better NICMAR or SPA, New Delhi department of Building Engineering and Management?
A comparative analysis for both institutes is mentioned below:
- Infrastructure: NICMAR is better as it provides proper hostel accommodation and other amenities.
- Faculty: Both institutions have good faculty.
- Coursework: SPA's MBEM course is tailored for architects who want to pursue construction management, whereas NICMAR's ACM course is designed for civil engineers.
- Placements: The packages offered by both institutions are similar for freshers and experienced candidates.
