Which B.Tech Branch is the best at KIIT Bhubhaneswar in terms of faculty and placements?

IB
Ishani Bandyopadhyay Posted On : July 25th, 2023
Studied at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

If you are enquiring In terms of placements then obviously CS is the best BTech branch not only in KIIT Bhubaneswar but in every engineering college.

Out of the total recruiters, the majority seek only CS students so their placement opportunities are clearly better than students of other branches. This is exactly why many students of core branches learn coding to apply for CA companies.

Other branches that are good options include ETC Mech automobile, IT, etc. However, ETC has tough core subjects like AEC and SD in the second year that might affect your CGPA.

My personal opinion would be to give maximum preference to CS. For this, you need to study hard and work on your coding skills and you will get a job that will help you replay the money you have spent.

Generally, with the right mindset and hard work, every branch has its own benefits and it’s a matter of personal preferences.

  • The syllabus and especially the question paper is not the traditional type but rather stimulates you to think.
  • They have a much advanced, updated curriculum and it is possible because they don’t come under any university and hence have the liberty to mold according to the latest industry standards.

Placement: (Winning Institution - Amrita University)

  • It is not easier to get placed from Amrita because you study in Amrita does not mean you will get high placements because the crowd in Amrita is more competitive.
  • All those who missed out on JEE come to Amrita. Top companies like Microsoft, Facebook, CISCO recruit only from Amrita out of those mentioned.

Campus Life: (Winning Institution - Amrita University)

  • The clubs in Amrita are almost international, as it conducts the prestigious ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest). Which itself is a benchmark to look for, acknowledging non-premier institutes like IITs, NITs, and BITs.
  • The clubs in Amrita are more diverse and active. It's tech-fest ANOKHA is also much better.

If you don’t have a blend with a very diverse crowd go for Amrita. Going by all the factors mentioned above, it is safe to say that Amrita University is a better alternative.

How do I easily pass the Annamalai University DDE?

MS
Manisha Sharma Posted On : November 30th, 2021
studied at Bangalore University (2021)

Any exam will become easier if you work hard with enough dedication, scoring good marks will not be difficult.

Firstly, start going through the notes from your first month onwards, only then you will fully get to utilize the contact classes.

According to the several students reviewing online, Annamalai University is comparatively easier to prepare for than IGNOU. Many of the students often come to University with their families and stay in a lodge to do the course.

IGNOU will be a good choice if you want your medium of language to be Hindi.

While writing the answers try to describe them more. The additional paragraphs will definitely be considered during evaluation.

You should be clear about the subjects and be familiar with your strengths and weaknesses. Spend more time in the preparation of those. You can also refer to the model paper which is available online. It is suggested that you just go through it and prepare for the exam accordingly.

What is the cutoff for a B Stat at Asutosh College Kolkata?

SR
Senjuti Roy Posted On : October 25th, 2021
BBA from Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (2020)

The required prerequisite for doing a B.Stat at Asutose College is 50% in the 12th standard. Having Statistics/Mathematics in your 10+2 is mandatory.

Students who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination and have also passed the English test with full marks of not less than 100 are eligible to apply.

If you have a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or the cessation of a recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying test, then you are not eligible to apply.

To determine eligibility for admission to the Honors Course, add the marks in the top four subjects. Marks obtained in mandatory Environmental Education/Studies, on the other hand, will not be factored into the final grade. You must have a minimum of 50% in aggregate and pass Mathematics.

Students from the SC/ST or OBC categories need to have a minimum of 40% in the previous qualifying examination.

How are the boys hostels for first year undergraduates at MANIT Bhopal?

VP
Vaibhav Patwari Posted On : November 8th, 2023
B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal (2020)

As a B.Tech fresher at MANIT Bhopal, you’ll be allotted Hostel 10. Here are the pros and cons of this hostel-

  • Location- The classes for freshers are held in NTB (new teaching block). NTB is 1.5 kilometers away from H-10, so you’ll have to walk around 6-7 kilometers daily. Cycling is the best way to travel from H-10 to NTB, and back.
  • Availability of basic necessities- The student corporate store inside the hostel will meet most of your necessities.
  • Mess- The mess serves decent and well balanced meals. But you’ll soon get bored of the mess food, and begin to dislike it.
  • Sports facilities- Both the blocks have a table tennis room. The hostel has badminton and volleyball courts inside it. You can play cricket in the hostel compound.
  • Internet facilities- The entire hostel is equipped with wifi connectivity. The internet speed depends upon your room, but normally it is 1 mbps. LAN facility is not available in the hostel.
  • Network- Jio signals are quite weak, but Airtel works fine.
  • Washrooms- Each floor has two sets of washrooms. Geysers aren’t installed in the bathrooms, so you’ll have to bring your own immersion rod (it is not allowed, but no checking takes place).
  • TV room- The hostel has a tv room, but it is hardly used by anyone.
  • Security- H-10 is heavily guarded by security guards. In the first 2-3 months, the security is exceptionally tight. So you need not worry about ragging.
  • Rooms- The rooms are in good condition. They were built for two occupants. But because of lack of accommodation, each one is shared by three students.

Overall, the first year hostel is quite decent. You’ll enjoy your stay at Hostel 10 of MANIT Bhopal.

What are the criteria for a branch upgradation at DTU, NSIT, and IIITD?

SK
Sanjana Kapoor Posted On : August 23rd, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

Instead of branch upgradation, I would like to call it branch change/ transfer. As an alumnus of IIITD, I can tell you about the procedure for branch change in my college-

  1. CSE, ECE, CSAM, CSS, CSD, and CSB are the six branches available for branch transfer.
  2. Because some courses start differing from 2nd semester onwards, the transfer takes place after semester 1.
  3. After semester 1, the admin office sends a notification to all the students along with a form in which they can highlight the branch to which they want to get transferred.
  4. Your JEE Main rank plays no role during the branch transfer. Instead, your CGPA decides your fate. Few courses, however, have a grade requirement (B- or above accordingly).
  5. Every branch can see an influx/ outflux of 10% of its original strength. For example, if CSE originally had 120 students, 12 can enter it and/or leave it for that batch.

This is the process for branch transfer at IIITD. I would suggest you also talk to the seniors and refer to the official website of IIITD to see if any new changes have been made to this procedure.

Also, to find out about branch changes at NSUT Delhi or DTU, I would recommend you talk to the alumni and administration of both these colleges.

NIT Trichy

There are several reasons why NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, and NIT Warangal stand out the most among other IITs.

  • These institutes have a rich legacy of almost half a century, a huge campus, and an elaborate alumni pool. Moreover. They enjoy excellent location which is a very crucial factor.

What is the IGNOU credit system?

RM
Raj Maurya Posted On : October 30th, 2022
M.A. in economics from Indira Gandhi National Open university (IGNOU) (Graduated 2017)

IGNOU follows the credit system. Credit has nothing to do with grade marks or rank. It is somewhat related to the subjects you opt for. Credit is like books. 1 book = 1 credit (mostly)

If you opt for a subject that has for example 4 credits, then you are required to study 4 books of that subject. After passing your exams you will get 4 credits. You can understand better through the below-mentioned example:- If you are willing to get a degree in BA from IGNOU, you need to score 32 credits each year. This equals 96 credits for the entire course.

There are three categories from which you have to choose the courses to complete 96 credits. Following are the categories:

  • Foundation courses - 24 credits

  • Elective courses - 56 or 64

  • Application Oriented courses - 8 or 16

The table below has specified the credits of some fundamental courses.

The table below mentions some major foundation courses and their credits:

Foundation Course

Credits

Science and Technology

8

Humanities and Social Sciences

8

English and Hindi

4

Foundation Courses are compulsory at IGNOU.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Jiwaji University?

RS
Rahul Sharma Posted On : October 25th, 2021
studied at Jiwaji University

A few of my friends graduated from Jiwaji University and here is their advice.

  • Don't break your studying habit. It’s true that you won’t need much studying to get the degree. But if you want to make a difference in your life, it's necessary for you to work hard.
  • Keep the xerox copies of all important documents on you at all times. Keeping xerox copies of documents like Mark sheets, Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, ID Card, Bank Passbook, etc. will come in handy.
  • Attended classes regularly. Stay in contact with your professors. Try not to miss practical classes, they are important.

According to my friends, it is an average college. So, you will need to put in extra effort to do it. If you are opting for the institute, try to make the most out of it.
