You will need a score of around 95 or above to join IISER Kolkata if you are general category. The required cutoff for the OBC category is around 80-90, and for SC, ST category, it’s 70-80. You should note that these cutoff marks are approximate and vary every year according to the number of candidates that are applying that year.
There is no such ranking procedure for the DU colleges. Also if you are going to take admission in a particular college do not go by the rank as all of them provide more or less the same campus experience.
If you want to choose a college, analyze factors like academics, faculty, exposure, placements, location, infrastructure, facilities provided and other opportunities.
The previous answer mentions MMTS. MMTS are the local intercity trains. They run across Hyderabad and the neighboring suburban areas that connect Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Falaknuma, Lingampally, Medchal and Umdanagar.
If you miss the special IITH bus and want a more affordable option than cab/auto, here is another option. You can reach Patancheru bus complex by auto. From there, you can take a bus to Medak. There isn’t a bus stop near the campus. But the college has a request bus stop allotted by TSRTC. You can ask the conductor to drop you off at the IIT Hyderabad main gate. From there, the college bus will take you inside the campus. The college buses arrive every 15 minutes at the main gate.
The tall college buildings will be visible to you from the highway, suggesting that you are reaching near the campus.
I am an alumnus of B.Tech Chemical at SVNIT.
According to me, it all depends on your interest. This branch fills at the end, at least this was the scenario when I joined SVNIT. But it offers decent placement opportunities.
Unlike other institutions, the major courses like Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Fluid Flow, etc. are all taken up by Professors and Associate Professors, and not Teaching Assistants. Teaching is up to the mark, given that you are interested in the subjects.
Core companies like Reliance, Cairn, GNFC, BASF, Lupin, etc. visit the department and recruit most of the B.Techs at decent pay packages. Some students crack GATE and opt for higher studies in India, and some others go on to do research work in reputed universities in the USA.
This is all the important information regarding Chemical Engineering at SVNIT.
IIIT Delhi considers both your GATE rank and UG percentage for admissions into M.Tech. You can apply through two categories- GATE and Non GATE.
For shortlisting GATE candidates, GATE rank and UG percentage are considered. 2500 GATE rank and 75% UG score is enough to get shortlisted for M.Tech CSE. This is followed by an interview.
Non-GATE candidates are shortlisted based on their UG percentage. Around 75% is enough to be shortlisted for M.Tech CSE. Once shortlisted, you’ll have to give a written test followed by an interview. Non-GATE qualifiers don’t get a stipend during their M.Tech.
IIIT Delhi frequently changes its selection criteria. Earlier Codechef's long score was considered during selections, but not now. College toppers and ICPC participants have better selection chances than the others.
AIIMS Rishikesh is considered one of the best new AIIMS for several reasons. Some of these include:
The highly rigorous campus life combined with the best academics and faculty makes AIIMS Rishikesh one of the best medical colleges!
Owing to its massive size (134 acres), AIIMS Patna was built a little away from the main city. However, there are connectivity issues and many facilities are available that keep it well-connected to the city. There are many recreational places too that one can explore apart from studying
Transport issues are rare as a shared auto-rickshaw ride costs 10 rupees to Phulwari Sharif and 20 rupees to Anisabad from AIIMS Patna. Additionally, you can book Ola cabs and Rapido bike taxis. The campus enjoys good connectivity to the city and airport. Also, it just takes around half an hour to reach Gandhi Maidan. Recently, the elevated highway has started functioning making things much easier.
IIT Kanpur is one of the esteemed engineering and technology institutes in India, and the economics program it is highly reputed. It aims to provide students with a rigorous education in economic theory and its applications. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research projects, internships, and other extracurricular activities.
The course curriculum of the Economics program comprises compulsory foundation subjects in the first year and departmental courses from the second year with microeconomics and macroeconomics being the first two courses you will come across,
Some of the most dynamic courses include Mathematical Economics, and Econometrics 1 and 2. The curriculum is flexible leaving the possibility for pursuing an interest in other fields too apart from Economics through open electives. Those who find the program not aligned with their interests can also opt for branch change after a year.
Education-wise, this program offers many opportunities.
The job opportunities offered by this program are also in abundance
Moreover, IIT Kanpur is the only IIT that has a separate department of Economic Sciences. The dedicated faculty is composed of highly-qualified and experienced economists. The program, being old, has an elaborate alumni pool too.
All of the institutes you mentioned are on the same level. Ranchi and Trichy have a slight advantage. Furthermore, having an IIM brand never hurts. It all depends on personal preference; you may prefer SIBM Pune, which is also a very good institute, but some candidates leave MDI Gurgaon and NITIE for the newer IIMs.
Furthermore, a degree from a government institute is far superior to a degree from a private institute. The smaller batch size of new IIMs also facilitates placements. Examine each institute's faculty details, placement details, batch size, infrastructure, and so on, and make an informed decision.
Many have pointed out that the campuses of BIT Pilani (any location) are no doubt better than MNNIT Allahabad. However, this answer does not focus on this, which does not signify that it is not a good institute. It is the best institute, and both of these institutes are the best choice considering your future perspectives.
Many people vote like Pilani campus > Goa campus > Hyderabad campus, considering some of the courses. So, if you want to study CSE, then honestly, it is Pilani= Goa= Hyderabad. But you must also think about the weather and hometown proximity.
