Is doing BBA from DTU any good?

P
PancakePirate Posted On : March 20th, 2026

Doing a BBA from DTU has its perks and drawbacks. The best part is the annual fest, Engifest, which is huge and really brings life to the campus. However, the campus itself is quite small, and the library has limited resources. The internship process has changed recently; now we have to find internships ourselves in the 5th semester, which can be stressful. About 30-35% of my classmates got placed during campus placements, with the highest package being 13.5 LPA. The average is about 6 LPA, which isn't bad. The fees are quite high for a government college at around 3,00,000, and they keep increasing. If you love business and can navigate the challenges, DTU could be worth it.

How is B.Tech Civil Engineering branch at DTU? What about its placement in 2025/26??

G
GarnetGuru Posted On : March 19th, 2026

I chose B.Tech Civil Engineering at DTU because I wanted to engage in fieldwork rather than just being stuck behind a desk. The curriculum is helpful and relevant, though it does lean heavily on theory. When it comes to internships, there are good options like PWD and NHAI alongside major companies like Amazon. I learned that last year, around 30 companies visited for internships, and stipends were roughly 10k.

As for placements in 2026, I’m optimistic since many companies come to hire. In our previous placements, 25 companies offered positions, with the highest package being 90,000. Overall, DTU is a great place for anyone looking to build a career in civil engineering!

How is B.Tech Chemical Engineering branch at DTU? What about its placement in 2025/26??

V
VaporwaveVeil Posted On : March 19th, 2026

Honestly, I chose Chemical Engineering at DTU because I didn’t get into the tech branches I wanted. But I’m happy with my choice. The course is easy to manage, and the faculty here is top-notch. By 2026, I believe placement opportunities will be excellent. The average salary package is impressive, and many companies are actively recruiting. Plus, the internship stipends are around 60-70k, which is quite encouraging. DTU has a solid reputation for placements, so I feel confident about my future.

Is doing B.Tech Engineering Physics from DTU any good?

F
FrozenLacuna Posted On : March 19th, 2026

If you have a strong interest in Physics and Electronics (the branch is now called Engineering Physics with a focus on Electronics), then there are no major concerns with this program. Students with impressive projects and strong academic records can apply for Master's programs, and graduates from Engineering Physics have even made it to Stanford University!

Regarding placements, Engineering Physics is considered one of the core branches. Some companies, like Bharti Airtel and Freescale Semiconductors, do hire from this field. However, the success of placements often hinges on the current placement coordinator and their negotiation skills.

Most non-tech and coding companies welcome candidates from Engineering Physics, and these days, they tend to offer competitive packages to the right talent.

Having DTU (formerly DCE) on your resume can significantly enhance your reputation in the industry. Ultimately, your success will depend on being in the right place at the right time!

What is the total cost for BA (Hons.) Economics in DTU??

A
AverageApe Posted On : March 18th, 2026

DTU is a government institution in Delhi, so the fees are quite reasonable compared to private colleges.

The fee structure is divided into 4 major installments over the years. The total fees for the 4-year BA (Hons.) Economics program is around 6 Lakhs (excluding hostel fees).

If you’re fortunate enough to secure a hostel at DTU, it will cost an additional 50K per year (including mess charges).

So, in total, you can expect to complete the course for about 8 Lakhs.

All the best!!!

What is the total cost for B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) in DTU??

F
ForgottenPulse Posted On : March 18th, 2026

Currently, the cost is around 1.2 Lakhs per year, which includes Tuition Fees, Infrastructure Development Cost, Maintenance Cost, Alumni Association Cost, and more.

Back in 2013, the college fees for the first year was Rs. 75,000, which later reduced to approximately Rs. 69,000 per year. The total came out to about 2.69 Lakhs for the 4-year B.Tech program at DTU.

Hostel fees are Rs. 18,000 per year, plus a one-time Security Deposit of Rs. 11,000, and an advance mess bill of Rs. 10,000 for 6 months each academic year.

For the exact amounts, you can refer to www.dtu.ac.in/academics.

Who in your opinion is the worst teacher at DTU?

V
VelvetMunificent Posted On : March 17th, 2026

Professor Sudarshan Kumar Valluru is quite a character. He tends to shout a lot. I can't comment on his knowledge—maybe he has a solid grasp of his subject—but he struggles with delivering it effectively to students. His evaluation of answer sheets is also questionable. He repeats the same paper every semester and seems to mark based on his mood (and perhaps how much he favors a particular student).

His personality comes off as sadistic, and teachers like him tarnish the respect that educators should command. I've encountered strict teachers before, but he seems to be driven by a bloated ego and anger. It's baffling!

How many marks should one get to have access to B.Des in DTU?

C
ChaoticCricket Posted On : March 17th, 2026

Getting into DTU's B.Des program is no cakewalk! You need to score under 200 in the UCEED exam for the general category. If you’re from Delhi, you might have a shot with a rank under 1000, which can make a big difference. The design program has a solid curriculum and great internship opportunities, so it’s definitely a good choice if you make the cut.

What is the admission procedure for DTU??

L
LunarRecoil Posted On : March 17th, 2026

Assuming the procedure is for UG courses:

  • First, you need to take an entrance exam. If you are from India, that exam is JEE MAINS. If you're from outside India, you'll take the SAT.
  • After that, check your rank and wait for the cutoff lists released by JAC Delhi.
  • Register on the JAC site with all the necessary information.
  • Fill in your course choices in order of preference when prompted on the site.
  • As soon as your rank meets your desired course, get the allotment letter and prepare for counseling.
  • In the meantime, submit the fees as mentioned by DTU.

That's how you secure admission in DTU! If you're an international student, make sure you have your DASA papers ready too.

And yes, scholarships are available based on certain conditions.

Good luck! ???

How many acres is DTU campus?

C
CrimsonRescue Posted On : March 17th, 2026

The DTU campus is quite impressive! It spans about 160 acres and has everything you need. However, some of the hostels, especially those for M.Tech and PhD students, are really terrible.

Here's what the campus offers:

  • Cafeteria and canteen
  • A dhaba-type canteen that students love
  • A juice corner and a small canteen
  • A fruit seller who also provides fruit chaat
  • SBI bank and ATM
  • Post office
  • Gym and open gym
  • Mess for outsiders and faculty, with good food

The university is packed with extracurricular activities. The farewell event was a blast, spanning five days, and I enjoyed every moment! The tech fest and cultural evening were also fantastic.

What I liked most was the environment at DTU. I lived outside the campus but often visited in the mornings and evenings for jogging.
