What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at AKTU?
Some tips that might help students starting their first year at AKTU are:

Choosing a quantum will get you good marks. But in the case of numerical subjects go for standard books.

During exams, revise the syllabus through quantum and solve the previous year’s questions.

In AKTU presentation matters more than content. So even if you don’t know an answer, you can get marks by writing whatever you know in a neat and presentable way. Using a different ink for headings will get you some brownie points.

Attend college regularly on your initial days. It will create a good impression.

I have a convert from MDI Guragon and will most probably convert JBIMS Mumbai as well. What business school should i choose? Why?

Well, firstly you should change your perspective before making a decision. I don’t think your CTC should let you decide whether you want to pursue MBA or not. Change your focus from CTC to long-term goals and I bet you won’t regret this decision.
Getting an MBA degree from FMS is a privilege in itself. Moreover, you can relive your college life without regrets this time. The top-notch B School will open amazing opportunities and let you gain experiences that you won’t regret ever. But you have to prepare yourself to face classrooms, books, exams, and tight deadlines.
So you should leave your job and go for FMS only if
- You are passionate about your goals and not only high packages
- You are ready to face college life once again
Don’t adopt the sheep mentality and pursue MBA just for high packages. Rather try to learn something from it that will help you in the long run.
Is Anna University a really good choice for other state students?
Other state students might face some major issues at Anna University. Some of them are:

Language Barrier: Almost everyone in Tamil Nadu converse in their mother tongue. So students from other states might face language issues outside the campus.

Climate: Chennai experiences a hot and humid climate throughout the year. The unbearable heat might be a serious issue for someone from a cooler state.

Food: Although Chennai offers both veg and non-vegetarian, if you are a true North Indian you will definitely miss North Indian food here.

Metropolitan: Life in Chennai is very fast-paced and can seem overwhelming for anyone. Also the pollution levels are high.
Whether Anna University is good for other state students actually depends on their capability to endure the above factors.
Is it worth to do Post graduation from IIM Sambalpur?
Whether Post Graduation from IIM Sambalpur is worth it or not depends solely on what you want from your MBA and your career interests.
For instance, if you are already prospering in your current workplace, pursuing MBA is not worth the time and fees you will spend. The MBA degree will add no value to your profile so it’s better for you to keep working. I have seen many people forgoing offers from IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, and XLRI mainly because they are certain the MBA degree will add no value to their career and is just a waste of time and money.
While choosing any B School be it IIM Sambalpur or any other B School, you need to check if an MBA degree will help you escalate your career or if you will just end up with a hefty loan to repay and no career upgrade.
Coming to IIM Sambalpur specifically, I don’t think a person who is prospering at his current job and wants to do MBA just for the sake of it will want to join IIM Sambalpur. The MBA degree from that institute specifically adds no value at all to his profile. In other cases, you can think of joining IIM Sambalpur.
Is IGNOU a good university for a master's?
IGNOU is an excellent choice if you are willing to pursue a Masters in any subject. Master's program in Economics and Maths, Psychology, Politics, Public Administration, etc are highly rated. It's MCA (Masters in computer application) even has an AICTE recognition.

Should I opt for AIIMS Raipur over AIIMS Jodhpur if I am from Maharashtra as Jodhpur is further away? I am generally looking for good college and hostel facilities and infrastructure.
Many students are confused while choosing their AIIMS College. AIIMS Raipur is usually ranked low in the list of 2012 implemented AIIMS.So firstI will address the misconceptions that l led to this conclusion:

People think that the hostel is far from the campus. When in reality you will be staying in the residential complex. You can come to the campus easily via a bus. Also you will be free from the fear of seniors. Also after a year you will be given single rooms at the hostel itself.

To have a look at its infrastructure, people refer to its old pictures which are misleading. The college and hostel are in fact massive and house thousands of students.

There is a rumour that AIIMS Raipur campus is incomplete. In reality, a dental college is being constructed.

People assume that since it’s located in Raipur, the crowd is also below average.
The only flaw is that the city needs development. All AIIMSs get equal funding and faculty distributed evenly. Yet AIIMS Raipur is underrated.
Which college should I prefer for Finance: XIMB BM, IMT G or IMI Delhi?
In choosing your B-school, the primary factors that you should consider are, the specialization you want to opt for and the ROI you are expecting. In your case, you want to go for Finance. The list of preferred B Schools you mentioned has similar fees and placements so I will be answering solely based on specialization.
Finance: IMI Delhi is the best choice of all the options when it comes to Finance. A premium quality crowd opts for Finance at IMI Delhi and the main reason is the customized MBA program in Finance. Many companies of the Finance sector visit the campus for placements. Finance students also avail the best opportunities and guidance and have a higher level of security than Marketing students.
However, in case you have more than 2-3 years of work experience, IMI Delhi is not a suitable option. Although you may stand out among your batchmates, the companies visiting the campus are not aware of this and offer roles suitable for less experienced students only. So your work experience may not be credited here.
The general preference order should be: IMI D>XIMB>IMT G
Should I join Accenture or IIM Raipur?
Your question basically means whether you should gain experience or pursue MBA from IIM Raipur. In my opinion, joining IIM Raipur is the right choice because
- You have cleared CAT and got selected. This might never happen in the future again due to the unpredictable nature of CAT. So don’t lose this opportunity.
- Joining Raipur right now is almost similar to going for a better B school 2 years later as Raipur might be flourishing till then.
- Even if you work and join IIM Raipur later, your disinterest in the job might be reflected in your interview thus becoming a negative impact on the panelists.
The fear of joining a new IIM is common as one is investing huge amounts of money. But you need to remember that every new IIM becomes an old IIM one day.
