How is the CSE department at Haldia Institute of Technology? What about its faculty and placement in recent times?

HR
Himani Roy Posted On : April 8th, 2021
B.Tech (IT) from Haldia Institute of Technology (2019)

Haldia Institute of Technology will be of no help to you if you dream to be the best at coding and be proud of yourself as a CSE graduate in the future.

  • When it comes to placement, it is good. But, if you consider your learning and look at the knowledge that you acquire in four years, you will not be satisfied.
  • Teaching is an art and most of the teachers lack this art at HIT. And, the rest are average. One of my friends attended HIT. During his time, the algorithm which is one of the most important topics was taught by a well-qualified professor. But, due to a lack of the art of teaching, the students lost interest in the subject.
  • Lab classes are under par. The lab assistant throws tantrums as if he is the dean of the college. Also, most of the teachers are alumni of the college. You won’t find the academic environment very encouraging.
  • No exposure. Even if it has been more than 15 years of the establishment of the college, it has failed to foresee Wipro, TCS, Infosys, CTS, and Tech Mahindra. This is quite unfair to the students who deserve more.
  • The CSE department has talented students but the teachers, who shape these minds don’t put in the required effort.

Despite all these, the students have made it to fortune 500 companies such as SAP Labs, Broadcom, Intel Security, Manhattan Associates. All the credits go to their hark-work and sheer determination.

College gives you a degree, it is you who with your hard work and determination, will make a great CSE graduate.

What are the rules for giving Grace Marks in Savitribai Phule Pune University for engineering students?

SG
Suhani Gope Posted On : October 4th, 2021
Studied at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) (2016)

According to the rule followed earlier, if you had secured 39 marks out of 100 and passed the rest of the subject. Then the teacher might give you grace marks, however, the marks would not be reflected in your result. It would be shown like 39#.

According to new rules released in 2014, internals carries 30% weightage along with 70% for External. In order to clear your exam, you had to secure 40% marks in both internals and theory papers, that is; 28/70 and 12/30.

If you are short of 1-2 marks in your theory paper, then grace might be given by your teacher but it is compulsory that you pass your internals with 40% marks.

How should a dropper smartly study for the next 6 months to crack the AIIMS/JIPMER/NEET?

KC
Kushal Chaudhuri, Posted On : September 21st, 2023
MBBS from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry (2018)

One of my friends was a dropper and managed to crack AIIMS. When asked about his strategy, he told everyone that he would perform the self-introspection exercise. In this, he would take his NCERTs and open the index.

Point out every chapter and rate your knowledge out of 5 in each topic. Rate yourself honestly to determine your strengths and weaknesses. Perform the same exercise for every subject and you will realize how much you lagged behind. This will also instill in you a desire to study hard and overcome your weak points. Study at least one chapter you are weak at thoroughly every week. Soon those chapters will become your favourite.

So, self-analysis is the key!

Which one is better MBA from FMS Delhi or IIT Delhi?

SG
Sushmita Gupta Posted On : April 5th, 2023
studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi

It is not a brainer that an MBA from FMS Delhi is a much better choice than IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi's MBA program is not even close to that if FMS and both are poles apart. If you want your MBA degree to be valuable enough to shape your career drastically, FMS is the one for you.

Here are a few pointers as to why I am so strongly in favor of FMS Delhi:

Ranking: One of the most valued ranking systems, IIRF ranks DMS IITD MBA 14 out of 44 colleges in India while FMS is ranked 5 out of 44 colleges in India in 2023.

Fees: IIT Delhi offers MBA at around INR 10.4 Lakhs (for 2 years) while FMS has very low fees of around INR 96,000 per year. This is almost 1/4th of the fees of the MBA program offered at IIT Delhi despite being way ahead in terms of brand value.

Placements: Being one of the premier B-schools in the country, it offers excellent placements that almost par with the top IIMs and its placements are nowhere comparable to IIT Delhi’s placements.

Particulars

FMS Delhi

DMS IIT Delhi

Highest package

INR 1.23 CPA

INR. 36.70 LPA

Average package

INR 34.1 LPA

INR 21.90 LPA

Median package

INR 31 LPA

INR 20.60 LPA

Top sectors

Consulting, Marketing

Sales & Marketing, Strategy & Consulting

Top Recruiters

Accenture Strategy, Airtel, Amazon American Express, Bain & Co, BCG etc

Rockwell Automation, Texas Instruments, ICICI, Optum, Medtronic, GE Healthcare

ROI: One does not even need to think twice before saying that FMS Delhi offers a much higher return on investment than IIT Delhi with much lower fees and placement opportunities notches higher.

Many times people forgo offers from top IIMs just for FMS because of no financial burden.

How tough is the M.Com exam conducted by IGNOU?

SM
Sushant Mishra Posted On : October 31st, 2022
Master of Commerce from Indira Gandhi National Open university (IGNOU)

MCom from IGNOU is very easy as it can be accomplished with minimum efforts. The exams include the entire course either in short notes, long answers, differences, etc. However, the assignments are not that easy. They require a thorough understanding of each topic, and a lot of written work. All in all the level of difficulty of exams is average but the quality of education is not hampered by this.

M.Com from IGNOU is not very difficult and can be actually passed with minimal effort. If you go through the previous year's paper, you will find that the exams are fairly lengthy. Almost the entire course is included in the exams either in the form of short notes, long answers or differences. So you will have to learn a lot. But the level of difficulty is not that high. However, the assignments are not that easy. They require a thorough understanding of each topic and a lot of written work.

The salient feature of IGNOU is to specifically cater to the needs of people who cannot pursue full-time education. Considering this the exams are not very challenging that will become a burden for part-timers.

Patna University has better colleges compared to Patilputra University. Most colleges associated to Patilputra University don’t take regular classes. Often sessions are late at Patilputra University as well. At Patna University classes are regular.

However, PPU colleges like A N College and College of Commerce are good and can be compared to Panta University colleges.

Is LNCT Bhopal one of the best 100 colleges in India?

SR
Sikha Rajput Posted On : September 20th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, KIIT University (2021)

No, LNCT Bhopal does not come under the best 100 colleges of India. In the 2020 ranking of NIRF, it was ranked 251-300. However, in 2021, it was ranked 50th for private engineering by India Today.

If you are looking for good placements, you can go for LNCT, since it has a good placement record. However, irrespective of the good placement record and the brand value it still has some issues that need to be addressed.

The faculty base is not that great. The faculty here focuses just on the theory part instead of imparting practical knowledge to the students.

Also, there is no environment for programming in the college and students have to pay extra and learn the programming languages for placements.

So before getting admission, do thorough research on the institute.
